1. Those beach clips from 2006 I think. It's the first one, the clearest and has a nice little solo in it. I think that solo, or one very similar ended up in Unknown Caller.

Thinking that, it reminded me of when I first heard Breathe. I swear that's Mercy in a new form. I made that connection a good while back and someone here said they think so too. The whole thing; and that's why I think Edge smiled when the person who spoke to him asked if they'd play it. They knew they would, but the person who asked didn't - and probably still doesn't.

Wouldn't that be something if they pulled it out? Electrical Storm got a round but Mercy doesn't?

I do not hear any similarities between Mercy and Breathe.

  5. If I can find what I originally wrote it makes a lot more sense. You mightn't hear the similarities but what I heard from it sounds a bit oddly like it.

I'm thinking about it right now...and structurally, it's very similar, you've got somewhat of a point...

Going to be flat honest with you though, I hope you're wrong. I really, really, do. The death of "Mercy"- whether we get it this tour or not- is not alright with me. I know it may never even be considered by them anymore, but if it turned into "Breathe", it definitely won't be. I can live with "Native Son" being turned into "Vertigo", but not "Mercy" into "Breathe."
  7. I am absolutely HURTING with this information so much, I'm typing this out on my Blackberry from school because I can't wait the few hours to get home to share this. I will type out the quote- paraphrased lightly- from U2tours.com, and post the source when I get home.

Willie Williams is working with the band and production team on a series of new visual ideas for on-screen content. For starters, WW is looking to fans to submit three simple questions which could end up in a new piece of screen content for the show. The questions are simple- one U2 question, one personal question, and one philosophical question. They can be serious or trivial, quite ridiculous...or quite important.

    (End quote)

My three questions? And perhaps to lead you down the train of thought that has me breaking school rules to tell you all ASAP what I'm thinking....here they are.

    1: Is this okay?
2: What did the first punk rock girl wear to your school?
    3: ...where is the fly?

I could be completely, totally wrong with my guess...but isn't that a pretty good guess? And its a brilliant idea. U2 fans creating the propaganda that subliminally invades their own brains during a performance of one of U2's most electric songs live I am so excited at this mere PROSPECT of hope.

Sorry if any of the formatting is messed up in this post, my Blaclberry can get screwy
  8. Where is the Fly? is absolutely the best U2-related question I ever heard (or maybe the second best, after the interview to user "Yeah" some years ago, in which he said that, if he could ask a question to U2, he would ask "Whatever happened to Pete The Chop?")...

    Brilliant, Matt
  9. His long hair was fantastic until 1993... But I hated his long hair from 2001 on. He looks much better with short haircut now that he's older.
  10. Only when he shaves though, otherwise he should keep the long hair

  11. ARRGH!!! the death of larry!

i didn't mind his style of long hair in 2001 but in the HTDAAB period it looked absolutely terrible like some sort of hair helmet... at the moment his hair seems to be approaching the popmart k-mart press conference style which was a brief but good look for him!

...all he needs to do now is get rid of those SH*T designer sunglasses.......
