What would be REALLY cool, actually, a spinoff of that idea...imagine as this circles around-

What's Larry's phone number?....Is there a God?....What color are your underpants?...How come Adam never sings?....What is?.......[the screen begins to flicker with static; the following bolded words are subliminally flashed in a 5-second interval]....Is this all we (LETTERS) get?.....Why isn't (BECOME WORDS) everyone accepted?....(BECOME SENTENCES) What's with the glasses?.....What is the (BECOME LIES) truth?....BECOME YOU...........Where is the fly?

And when it finally said "where is the fly?", it could just stay there and zoom in on the words as strobes go off on the stage and the band opens the encore with "The Fly"

    do it

i can't see that happening on this tour unless they decide to change the whole feel of the show. it seems quite obvious from all the setlists so far that they are going for the quieter 'emotional' ending - same as they did on Zootv.

if anything is going to change in the encore i think it will be a song with the same sort of feel - something like love is blindness which would be amazing...

if they do bring the fly back it will probably be played in same places MW was played on the first two legs and if they do start playing it again i hope it's back to the original version with the proper drums..

oh and my question to text in would be 'WHERE THE HELL IS THE POP MATERIAL??????!!!??!!' obviously....!

I agree 100%. After listening to 3 Popmart bootlegs in the last 24 hours, I have decided. Bring back the Pop material!!

yeah i was just listening to leeds & miami for the first time in a few months and i have to say it just re-enforced the fact that it's an ABSOLUTE F*CKIN TRAVESTY that they don't write or play stuff like mofo, LNOE, gone and miami anymore....

for the love of god U2 PLEASE re-strap on a pair sometime soon.... i'm beginning to lose hope
  7. Last Night on Earth is such an incredible song, it needs to return. Unfortunantly there are 5 or 6 incredible songs on Pop that need to return. Can't win em all.
  8. i think i've officially decided that out of all the songs on pop the one that needs to come back most is mofo... i've spent the afternoon listening to a load of popmart shows and i can safely say from listening to them and from actually being there at Leeds that there is no moment that packs more of a punch live than when that bass sample starts followed by the drums followed by edge's whammy pedal octave guitar bit. its just pure genius! i actually cant put it into words!

i reckon if they start playing mofo again on 360 they might just remember what it was like to make different, interesting music with massive b*llocks and abandon this tame, safe stuff they've been producing for the last 10 years and go back to pushing some boundaries on the next album..... i can only hope

-I don't see "With or Without You" being dropped as a travesty, and I doubt they do either, they toyed around with it on the Vertigo Tour, it wasn't a staple.
-I would be VERY surprised if they're actually going to "road test" new material on this leg of the tour; at least not very early. Perhaps towards the very end, if something's actually announced or more accurately projected, we'll see some new stuff.
-I love when U2 songs occupy brand new setlist positions on tour...eg; "Until the End of the World" has been the in the opening trio (Elevation), opening quarter (ZooTV), about halfway (PopMart, 360°), AND in the encore (Vertigo)...and I would LOVE to see this happen with EBBTTRT, since whenever it's been played, it's been in the opening few numbers of the setlist, but I'd much rather see "The Fly" open the encore, and I don't know where else it would go.

unusually for people's setlist predictions i actually really like that!!

But here's my slightly altered version of it: I dropped still haven't found cos i'm sick to death of it, i'm also sick to death of SBS and initially was going to replace it with Gone but decided to leave it in to keep it slightly realistic and i also liked the way it was next to please! i also considered swapping EBTTRT and UTEOTW but not sure.... i added HMTMKMKM in the 'surprise slot' that was sometimes taken up by MW in the first two legs.. and i put LNOE in there where it bloody well deserves to be! I moved one to a zootv style slot. oh and i put no line as the opening song cos i always thought thats where it should've been! (haven't decided on the 'mind blowing intro' yet)... think thats it?

and despite what i said earlier i''ve kept the fly in the encore spot although i still don't think it would happen on this tour..

    What do you think?

    (Edit)
due to the absence of pride being pointed out i had to unfortunately sacrifice angel of harlem for realism (although if i had my way i'd've quite happily thrown boots out of the window and kept angel)... no chance of putting an extra song in there?

  11. For both of your setlists - you both missed out Pride. If I went to a U2 concert and they didn't play Pride, I'd be kinda pissed

oh sh*t yeah.... another one i'm sick of...! hang on i'll edit it

it's strange to think that originally during popmart rehearsals bono didn't want to play any stuff like pride and ISHFWILF and had to be talked into it at the last minute! now someone needs to do the opposite and talk him out of it!
