if you could upload the tracks though i would be eternally grateful. and yes my intention is only to put it on youtube (in the highest possible quality) - would there be a vast difference in quality between an avi conversion and a re-encoded dvd? how incomplete is the show? and would you be able to upload the tracks separately?

Putting it up on youtube is a downgrade. What you win on the audio, you loose on video.
Difference between a well transfered DVD and an average avi file is like day and night. Negligible though if you just wanna stream it. Especially on that source.
Have to check the chapters on the DVD, but i'd probably have to cut the the tracks myself to upload them separately. Don't feel too much motivation to do that. But you can easily do it yourself. Lots of free programs out there.
