1. Opening with SBS? That "setlist" is the rehearsal list I reckon. No way it was an actual setlist meant to be performed at any show.
  2. Well i thought that but it's also got markings for where the encores would be. Opening with sbs would be a strange one though.
  3. they opened the Hershey dress rehearsal with SBS back in 92
  4. So my take on it...

    Production
Watched the gig in parts, most songs two times. First of all, it is a mix as Yeah said. Some random crowd shots and definately some Wembley footage. The DVD looks very good with a lot of contrast. On the other hand, it annoys me sometimes. The contrast is a bit too much at some parts and, like with NLOTH (the song), they use some extreme filters (sort of sepia there). Nothing wrong with that, I like Photoshop and I like filters. But it's a bit overdone sometimes here.

    Sound
Listened to the DVD on my brothers Denon stereo system with KEF IQ7 speakers. Dissapointed with the PCM Stereo. Slane and Boston are much better. Chicago..I dunno.

At home, on the Home Cinema Set, it was a bit better. Although, on both DTS and Dolby Digital, Bono is too prominent and Larry and Edge are too distant. At MOS, with Edge solo, you can hear how it should've been. Edge's solo is very prominent there but as soon as Bono starts to sing, it's going to the background.

    Performance
Not brilliant, not bad. Enjoyed Unknown Caller, Vertigo, Moment of Surrender and UTEOTW and some more. Crazy was very bad. Start is promising but quickly looses my interest, and considering I like the song, this isn't a good thing. I do like Ultraviolet although it can't reach the performance from Sheffield by far. Streets surprises me with Amazing Grace to start it with. Great shots of that massive Pasadena crowd too.

It's an average performance and a good DVD. Of the recent tour DVD's, I would enjoy Boston more and Slane the most. I like it more than Chicago though.
  5. hello all...just wanted to add my two cents: i thought all in all it was a good effort- what i am thoroughly disappointed in is all the clean-up done to it- adding in audience from other shows??? adding in words by Bono that he didn't say at the Pasadena show??? (listen to the intro from NLOTH on youtube or MP3 and then listen to the DVD audio) even the instruments were cleaned up- minor guitar errors and some bass errors were cut and audio from god knows where was pasted in. my point is that if you want to release a recording of a show, any show, make it a true recording OF THAT SHOW....i don't want something that has been polished up to look pretty- i want it to sound as it did at that show....and for god's sake- like Breathe or not, it was the opening song....kind of a slap in the face to the fans, i think....oh well....
  6. Well as long as it is better than Chicago, that's all that matters to me.

Been trying to decide whether it's worth me buying but I will probably get it regardless of what doubts I have.

I think they just wanted to try out the songs sounds and effects before starting the actual setlist o.O.That setlist did look interesting.

I'm sure that there were a few guitar parts that weren't cleaned up.

    Oh, yes, great crowd shots

Oh, sarcasm aside, thanks for the reviews guys, keep them coming. It seems that you all are liking it more than I expected... Good thing!

Ehm Sergio, I mean the overview shots of Pasadena. And those are 100% Pasadena. During Streets with Bono standing on the boxes looking over the crowd. That isn't fake.

They have always put Bono way too high in the mix.
