  4. Just a couple of short thoughts

    Favorite Songs/Moments: Ultraviolet, City of Blinding Lights, Magnificent, UTEOTW, Moment of Surrender, Amazing Grace--> Streets.

    Another thing that i liked in particular about this release were some of the edited shots they had of the band. I loved when they would have the camera on a band member and another part of the screen would fade into another member, especially on harmony vocals with Bono and the Edge.

    Similarly i loved the "found three friends" line on Beautiful Day where they showed Bono walking over the bridge and showed Edge Larry and then Adam. Some cool editing i thought.
  5. Just sat down and watched the DVD in its entirety...and I was blown away. Perhaps I'm a little biased because it was the first tour when I was really a big fan/the first tour I went to, but I think this might be my favorite concert DVD out of the 6 (I can't make a call on Rattle and Hum, since it just came in the mail today, as well). I can't imagine what this would look like on Blu-ray...it looked absolutely fantastic on my normal TV here at home. I can kinda understand why they didn't keep Breathe in with the main part of the set, but I wish they would have, nonetheless. Didn't like the CGI with the spaceship in between Streets and Ultraviolet, but it was okay at the beginning (still would have been better if they had gone from the beginning of Kingdom into Breathe into GOYB, though). The audio mix sounded pretty good on my TV here- Adam was a little low, but I think that was my TV's sound system more than the DVD mix itself. As for the shots with multiple members of the band that were talked about right above me, I really, really loved the minute or so-long shot near the end of Moment of Surrender that had all 4 of the members going in and out of it...fantastic editing there. I don't think there was a moment that I didn't like- I thought Bono had a lot of passion throughout the night, and it made songs that you're not necessarily as enthused to hear (One, With Or Without You) a lot better. MLK was very nice- I don't know if they did anything to his voice while mixing that or not, but it sounded fantastic. And the Amazing Grace ---> Streets sequence was absolutely phenomenal. I just love this stage...

    My favorite lyrical change B has ever made, and you're right- it enhances it on the DVD

  8. Once I saw the whole DVD I knew rightaway that Ultra Violet was the song of this DVD!
    It gives me chills everytime I listen to it. The sound is so magical!
    it's just this breathtaking moment with the band and the lasers are sooo awesome!
    It's a true Achtung Baby jewel so happy that it finally got released on something official!

    My all time favorite is Streets though but as that version ownes the Slane DVD, Ultra Violet owns this DVD..

    Pure magic!

  10. A friend of mine has bought the very super duper Delux edition today morning, just for 80€ - not that bad. I still find it a little expensive though.


    By the way, in case someone wants to watch it online, this guy has all the first half of the DVD uploaded to his youtube account - up to Vertigo.
