It wasn't the turkish rushing against the israelis, it was the opposite. Israelis were coming down off helicopters and boarding the ship; therefore, the guilt on the 9 deaths resides exclusively on the Israel side. How many israeli soldiers were hurt (just "hurt", not even killed) the other day? Not as many as turkish activists, I'm sure. And "hands are lethal as well" is a very bold statement, when you have a 30-bullets-per-second gun in your hand I don't think you care much about a guy coming up to you with naked hands, do you?

As I said, my comments were not situation specific. Meaning, that I was speaking generally and had nothing to do with Turks or Isrealis or boats or anything.

Let me put it into better perspective. Someone breaks into my house with a gun. I dont have one. I will rush him, throw things, hit, punch, kick, bite, cut off his hands with a butter knife - whatever it takes to end the threat against me. If my family is home at the time, I might do something really bad.

    Now onto the Isreali thing.....

No one here was on board. No one here knows whether or not some idiot on that boat instigated anything with the Isreali boarding party. They were prepared to be shot at from the moment they spotted Isreali ships the night before the 'attack'. They either knew that they had already insitgated an incident, or they knew they were going to once the ship was boarded.

    Exactly.
  4. Has anyone on here ever read "The Road To Serfdom" by F.A. Hayek? It explains in laymens terms why socialism/communism will never work.
  5. Ok I just watched the 'we con the world' video and I just have to say that any forwarding of the video to the press by Idreali officials or military was stupid and insensitive.

Having said that, the video has actually clips of the 'peaceful' protestors with large thick metal rods that are being brandished around violently, soldiers being beaten and thrown off the ships - I am only half way through the video and insensitive dumbass song aside, its very clear that there was nothing peaceful about he activists.....

edit: towards the end of the video there is a clip of an Isreali soldier coming down a rope, presumably from a helicopter. Yes the soldier is armed, but he is noeven holding his weapon - both hands are on the rope. Before the soldier places even one foot on the deck of the ship, he is violently attacked.

Also, there are 4 Isreali soldiers who were reportedly shot by the 'unarmed' flotilla members.....

  6. I doubt that because Israelis would already scream that from the mountains.

Let me just remind you - their boat was INVADED by Israeli on territory that is not Israelis. They had every right to defent themselves and the boat.

No, but F.A. Hayek is also just someone with an opinion. BTW I guess Holland would fall under 'socialistic' under your criteria. And we are not doing that bad Of course its national pride, but in many ways I believe we are doing better than most other countries on this and the other side of the ocean.

And thats all thats left isnt it? You can no longer say that they were defenseless or even that they were not a threat to the soldiers - obviously they were a threat. In those videos you even see a soldier stabbed and does the soldier fire? No he does not.

There were people on that boat that did not have any peaceful ideas at all. I dont care who it threatened or who stopped it, but I am glad it was stopped before those people could do whatever it was that they were planning......
  9. If there will be a combination of CDA/PVV/VVD in Holland we'll go straight to hell.
  10. Well that is democracy

I voted Balkenende. Not actually like him, but to me he was the most normal one on the center orientated parties.

Cant believe Cohen got so many votes. Weak, also during the debates.

USA says that Scandinavian countries are the last bastion of socialism and yet, scandinavian countries are the richest countries in the world.
  12. Psssst... Don't tell Aaron

In more than 1 way Scandinavia and Holland are communistic. But that is a scary word and everyone should wash their mouth after saying that

Not that bad that liberals won the elections here. As long the PVV stays out of the coalition it is much better than the Labour party.
