1. Yeah, Slovenia can lose tonight but still go through to the next round because they've amassed more points than the USA and Algeria.

Than from the next round onwards it's a straight forward knockout competition, where only a win is good enough.

So basically the USA has to pull....how many goals out of our asses? to advance...

  3. Just the 1. If USA win, then they'll have more points than Slovenia and will advance with England.

    Oh, alright then.
  5. Final stretch now, things are still the same. If anything's going to change it's got to be now.
  6. 4 minutes for the USA to score....

    EDIT: THEY HAVE!!
  7. Well in USA. Fair play England. Unconvincing but enough. Screwed when they meet a decent team.
  8. England are acting like they've won the world cup. I find it funny how England said they would destroy that group and they got so close to losing. Tbh guys, you got a little lucky.
  9. England were better than they were but no where near good enough. Certainly better teams in the competition. Need to improve more for (probable) Germany in the next game. When England need to though...
  10. Wow.

I just came from the pub (missed work to go) and my adrenaline is still pumping. US had a lot of opportunities but just couldn't seem to find the back of the net. Avoided a near-disaster by having yet another goal called off (looked onsides to me!) and Donovan rallied in extra time for the win. The pub exploded when he scored that goal, and it brought me back to being in Dublin last summer to when the lights kick in for " Where the Streets Have No Name" at Croke Park. An almost spiritual experience. Well done, USA.
  11. u2spear in trouble when you meet a decent team.
