Haha, nah I know, I was just jumping on it anyway that little melody he plays in that version of RTSS in one of the Point Depot shows is magical. Simple, yet beautiful.

He maybe able to play everything that he needs, but I am not really sure about the "everything he wants".
  3. Bono is an okay guitarist, he could help on more songss if he wanted to and worked on it, there are some versions such as one from rotterdam in 92 where you can see he can be helpful. I wish he would bring the dotted popmart LP back, or his shiny blue one, those were so cool just like adam´s lime bass.

Yeah, 89-12-16. The best part of a slightly overrated show (for me)
  5. Hi guys,

I've been searching on the internet for the type of Ibanez Tubescreamer that edge uses.
But I can't figure out if he uses a ts9 or the original ts. Is there any hard evidence of what he actually uses available?

    Thanks,

    Mike
  6. Hi,

Ok I made a little mistake....I ment to ask if anyone knows which issue of the TS9 edge uses. I assume he uses the original 1981-1984 issue....but, does anyone know for sure?

It's not rumour it's fact. Dallas told me this when I talked to him in June (at Guitar Center Hollywood).

Bono didn't buy the Tele, Dallas bought it for Bono.

Dallas said that Bono had been playing that guitar a lot, in regards to Spider Man and new album material.

Why not stay with the Irish Falcon? Gretsch are not making the Irish Falcon. Perhaps Bono was ready to go back to using other guitars.

As for Bono's possible guitar purchasing... cool. He has quite a few guitars, I wonder why he only uses his "The Goal is Soul" Gretsch nowadays. It's cool, but it would be nice to see him flaunt his wealth at least.

MirrorBall Les Paul was auctioned, post Popmart tour.

I don't think Edge played that guitar live. I've not seen footage or photos. I think he 'meant' too, and there are pics of Dallas holding it during the Popmart tour.

But I have heard the thing was incredibly heavy. And that alone might have kept in in the guitar locker instead on stage.
  10. Yeah, heavy guitars are useless when it comes to playing live. There's nothing more unconvenient than holding a extra heavy guitar, it ends up affecting (in a bad way) your playing style and quality. That's the main problem of my granfa's Gibson Artisan that some of you in this thread know already - it is sooooo heavy. The guitar is a beauty and sounds like heaven, but you hate it after 15 minutes of having it holding off your shoulders.

Yep, the heaviest LP ever built. Ever.
  12. anstratdubh, I was wondering your opinion on the explorer for the chorus of a song.

How would you get that air punching sound from the Beautiful Day chorus

    "It was a beautiful..." DUH-DER-DUH

I've been trying to find that right sound but everything comes out too rough or too soft.
