Yep. They had it nailed too. Sounded amazing but they apparently couldn't 'recover the mood' after playing it. Rehearsed extensively in Barcelona and again in Dublin. Shame

I think if they went from that into SBS it could be a recovery.

  3. How bout if the band busted out Discotheque. These shows are only in Europe,PoP was very popular there, why not play some songs off that cd then?..Last Night On Earth would fit with the whole spaceship theme IMO.MOFO as well. How bout that as an opener instead of BD,Larry..BD is playing it safe my friend.Hate to say that, but this is a bit of a "hits" tour.Play PoP.This a European tour, you guys love that cd,they should play it.Edge even said they r not promoting anything, get risky for once guys, play PoP.

And Larry says they dont play it safe.

The politics may have been a little over the top at times, and they may not have had the best version of every song during the tour...but they sure did get the setlist variation down well. Hopefully they remember that in later legs of this tour, if it's supposed to go into 2012, as rumored.

Take a look at Pearl Jam - they have way more variation, every night is a lottery

  6. Great point.Im a huge PJ fan,its amazing how they do it.And they sell EVERY show since 2000,warts and all.Look at the setlists from their 2 sold out gigs at MSG.05.20 AND 05.21.10.Talk about 2 different setlists.U2 just played 2 nights in Horsens, and played 2 identical sets both nights. The big change, play UV,drop UF and UTEOTW night 2.Wow.Really big change there Larry. What bothers me ,is Larry's recent comments. He said the band dont play it "safe",we dont just go out and play the "hits".Is he serious?Really Larry? The only tour that had variation, was Vertigo. The 360 tour,as we know, has ZERO variation.Im not trying to bash the band here, they are one of the greatest bands ever. But they are so predictable live.Play I Will Follow after Stingray on certain nights. How about a full band version of Desire. Why not play Bad ? How about BTBS or MOTD off Joshua Tree. Why is it that they insist on ending EVERY show with MOS ? How about AIWIY.The band last year got risky, and played Your Blue Room. But,of course, they dropped it soon after.I guess it was too risky.
  7. i saw PJ last year, i think i was a victim of this shake up, they didnt play all of their hits, instead playing songs id never heard but the die hards loved. U2 would have even more casual fans then PJ, so u would have even more people dissapointed like me.
  8. I always complained a lot about changes in the setlist and know I have to say something:

Even if I want one or other specific song, I can't complain anymore about the "band doesn't change the set"... beacuse they're just doing it

More changes are always welcome in my opinon

I understand. The fact that PJ release every show might have something to do with that. What show did you see ?,sounds like a show I would love. Some of those Australian shows were amazing last year. The show from Melbourne,11.20.09, was one of the best of the tour, and contained 8 songs from Ten.Prior to Vertigo,U2 never mixed up their sets much.I accept that, I have seen numerous shows from each tour, since 1985.I guess I got spoiled, from Vertigos various sets.
  11. I would love if they dropped the following songs

IALW, Elevation. Walk On, WOWY, SBS, Crazy

And put in the next songs on rotation: The Fly(_O_ ) Bad, STYCMIOYO, RTSS, Zoo Station, Angel of Harlem, Discotheque, I will Follow, Desire

And just suprise us with new songs or rare songs
