1. i got into this big amazing u2start thing after the sand and water place little sound thingies (???) could anyone explain to me the story? thax... lol
  2. I agree with Chris Martin. They should take the best 10-12 songs from their "rock" album, club album, and songs from Spider Man, and release them, but I would wait until mid-2011, just before the return to America. And put Mercy on it.

Songs of Ascent should be an EP (I would just call it Ascent), to be released by the end of the year, and then in 5 years they can release a 3 disc "The Complete No Line On The Horizon Sessions" including NLOTH, SA, and some alternate versions and previously unreleased stuff when people finally get that it is a great album.

Do you hear that, Bono? Do what I say. Also, please send me your lyrics in advance of the release so I can copyedit them for you.

  3. Basically some people said that the Beach Clips were not representative of the final album and that we should not expect NLOTH to sound like them, others like myself disagreed and thought they were.

(In the end t turned out there were some minor changes to the album versions of GOYB and Magnificent from the recordings and the beach clip of Unknown Caller was identical to the album version)

And that reminds me, what of the 4th beach clip? the acoustic sounding tune, did that end up being White as Snow? Cos IIRC it sounded a bit like North Star and the current acoustic version of EBW.

The fourth one was a slowed down version of Crazy Tonight. There was Breathe, GOYB, Magnificent, and then Crazy Tonight.

Anyways, off topic. May the BCs RIP.

Ah so that's what it was.

It's interesting that no one has managed to record anymore seeing as how much we got from the last ones. Bono himself just mentioned in some interview that the Eze beachgoers have been getting an earful of the new songs.

I know it... I've heard all of them and I know Beach clips policy here - I just wanted to write "Beach clips" to continue "discussion"

  8. Well, when the album came out I was sure that in the BC of Unknown Caller only Edge and Bono were singing the chorus, but when I went back to listen to the clip it was the same as the album version (except with beach sounds and terrible audio quality). This makes sense as UC was recorded in Fez and the Fez sessions were already over by the time of the Beach Clips.

But I agree that we need new album news.

    And the different lyrics..

  10. Don't have the clip here but I'm sure there was something different. Anyway, that's another discussion and not really relevant anymore.
  11. I only heard these "Sandy place recordings" after the album and well... Thought they were like 90% similar...

But to go a bit on topic again... As said here and by Bono before, the guys are playing tons of new songs over and over again in Eze so... I'm really surprised there haven't surfaced more of them...
OR there is that much security (set there by some U2starters ) that recording isnt possible before
