1. I just came up with a riff that I really like. I don't know many songs (outside of U2 or Muse) that have "riffs." So, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I'm ripping off something lol. I'm fairly sure that I'm not, but I just want to make sure before I start to really work on it. Also, the camera's battery died before I finished, but it recorded all that you really need to hear.

I apologize for the feet. But if you're into that, then... um...... ew. I would have just put up an mp3, but the converter that I use was only putting out a 0 kb file containing no sound.
  2. The first part of the riff sounds like 32421342432 other riffs, the one off the top of my head right now is the Stingray song that U2 is doing lol. That low E note to the 3rd fret bend on the E string is a typical blues thing, but that's all good, because you turn it into something that i've never heard right after. Honestly, I think it sounds badass. Sounds like something I could see myself hearing on the radio. Good stuff man, NOW WRITE THE WHOLE SONG.

What a great song, Victor!! Pretty sad, but some great lines there, and that "Everything's not lost" message at the end... Well done, mate

Almost makes me tear up to even read those words. My favorite 5 seconds of every Elevation show is that intro, with him saying that and the violins.

Like Alex said, the 3rd fret bending is very common, mainly because it sounds good and is pretty much the bedrock of the rock sound. I don't think you're accidentally ripping anyone off bud either go forth and multiply!

    Sort of.

Thanks man. I can't wait to finish it.
  9. Hey guys... it's been a while lol. I've finally got around to putting the recording of my band's first show online. It's worth watching God's Hiatus just to hear the massive amp failure lol... As well as Universe, I broke a string and sent the guitar out of tune. From the videos, it appears that we don't interact with the crowd that often (like Muse) but I actually had to crop out a 10 minute sermon that included my friend that I brought on stage lmao.

(Thanks to U2Gigs.com for inspiring the "Notes" section on the show page.)

I forgot who it was that told me that my singing was nice... very generous guy, as you will see in the videos.
  10. Wow, a complete show recording both in video and audio, full review from one of the artist and a dedicates show page? hhahaha you rock, Nick

I will listen to it later, it must have been a hell of a show (and lots of fun) for you, so I hope it's the same for me. Feedback will come later

Well, the quality is pretty terrible I'll admit. It's okay, but it just annoys me because 80% of the sound comes out of the left speaker for some reason . If we ever record another show in the same auditorium (as we most likely will... I'll be VERY surprised if we don't) it won't be like that, we'll be plugged into the school's PA system. This show was very small, so it was just the drum set and amps. I do what I can. Thanks Sergio.

It was tons of fun until the massive amp failure (as you can imagine lol). Once we got back up, it was fine though. While listening, please keep in mind that it was our first live show. Thanks Sergio, I can definitely use it to make the next shows better.

M'man, as far as debuts go, I think you were great and don't be so uptight about your singing, I do genuinely think you sounded good! The quality of the audio wasn't great, agreed, and digital stuff doesn't often record well, I'm all too aware of that, but I think you were all sounding pretty tight and you should be proud of it.
