M'man, as far as debuts go, I think you were great and don't be so uptight about your singing, I do genuinely think you sounded good! The quality of the audio wasn't great, agreed, and digital stuff doesn't often record well, I'm all too aware of that, but I think you were all sounding pretty tight and you should be proud of it.

Thanks Harry! I was in key 97ish% of the time, it's just the... sound, I guess, of it. But actually, the first song (Hiatus) will sound more melodic the next time we perform it, thanks to the new lyrics I wrote for it. I'm also working on new melodies for Utopia, so that should sound a lot more graceful at the end. I did not ever do the screamy things in the song before, so that was really taking a chance. Yeah, it was done by quality cameras, it really everything else that took away from the sound (no PA system, camera location, etc.) Thanks Harry.

Thanks man! The Mediafire link is located on the show's page (the link that I just posted.) It's right under "recordings" (the letters in light blue) which is beneath the "notes" section. Thanks, believe it or not, it was done on a free server by someone who's never made / maintained a website before (me) lol. Thanks again.
  3. Here is my re-write of Hiatus (the choruses.)

    God's Hiatus

Waiting in the sun, for a stormy cloud
Never synthesizing, because I want it now

Man looks around, wondering where it is
Time fills his world, always breaking it down

Are you going to let every fire burn?
While every doubt drowns out the dreams
Dreamers dream, fighters fight, should you be proud of your plight?
Just as if they’re not the enemy

Take back, none of what you’ve done
Don’t show me what I’ve missed out on

Look through the eyes, that have never seen you
I’m already gone, please don’t start looking

Are you going to let every fire burn?
Like a rebel’s yell piercing through the night
Dreamers dream, fighters fight, should you be proud of your plight?
Just as if they’re not the enemy

Also, I've done some re-working on "Universe" with the guitar. I've added a completely different (more melodic) line in the beginning, along with a new tone using the new Line 6. And to top it all off, I've made great use my whammy pedal for the ending.

While I'm talking about additions / upgrades to songs.... God's Hiatus' first bridge will lose the guitar solo and be replaced by Musey piano line. And I'm going to add a short solo / transition to the end of the last chorus that leads directly into the first ending riff. I've added keyboard lines for myself during both Utopia and Enigmas as well. (There might also be an acoustic outro for Enigmas...)

Our next show will be vetty vetty different (hopefully longer with new songs as well).

  6. The Lighthouse.

The Iceberg ravages my planks, like decimated soldier ranks long before the early dawn of day.

The grey rain curtain clasped so tightly around them so as they dare not see the fast decay of time nor the wonders of the world around them. Oh so scared it would profound them to an end of slumber, wake.

They will send me no aid nor help round, their feet stuck solid to the ground.
The frost on my face, ageing into tattered and worn
for all this, her voice keeps me warm through this storm.

    So love, sing away.
    My love, sing away.

I can see the lighthouse coming through the mist.
I can see that lighthouse coming through the mist.

I'm not much a sailor, in these barren winds
It doesn't take much for me to collapse in.

I've grown a beard in the meantime, and that beard itself has grown grime
but It's hard to care for how you look when the ground you stand upon is shook by the surroundings you keep on plowin' through.

I can see the lighthouse coming through the mist.
I can see that lighthouse coming through the mist.

I'm in my deepest, darkest moment of deep dismay

    So my love, sing away.
    My love, sing away.
  7. This song was inspired by a page on the Impetus website.

    The Meaning Of Everything

Every day when you warp a mind’s eye, expanding the venus’ vice
Wherever you go, there you are, ready to let it go

Cursing a demon, or kissing your diva, it’s always the same smile
You’re sitting there drowning, in tears from the dawning, feeling the sun like rain

The shackles on your soul, that’s keeping you anchored, will never make you whole
The people passing by, stare through your shuteye, you can’t help but look away

Don’t you get tired of scoping out
    The meaning of everything?
How do you keep all of your control
    When balance is hollow ground?

Who’ll put out the limelight? What’ll happen to my might? Why can’t I hold answers?
I’m tired of asking, and never casting, a light upon the head of truth

Everything’s alright, so go start a street fight, whatever keeps demons at bay
Like motifs and theme songs, or polyester thongs, they’ll only bring you so far

Don’t you get tired of scoping out
    The meaning of everything?
How do you keep all of your control
    When balance is hollow ground?

Where do you go to lose yourself?
Why do you make the trip?
Don’t you get tired of scoping out
    The meaning of everything?

Another classic Hunter tune. Bringing the listener right to the setting of the song, forcing the emotion onto them. Great work. It reminds me of White As Snow and Cedars Of Lebanon.
  9. Winter Star

Sing till your throat goes dry
Sing and if you can't then try
Sing the truth even when your voice shakes
Sing your soul until the dawn breaks

Make your dreams grand and profound
I dare you dare to dream aloud.
And even when the sky has casted cloud,
The Winter star will guide you home.

    Chorus Chant

I dare you take the first step out of courage, forsaking vanity
As the shadow enraptures you beginning at your well-worn feet.
The night it will be long, shadow will be cast
But all moments whether good or bad Are destined to pass.

Take the first step into the dark, and to that star go hark!
as the lights go out around you, and the spiral staircase you cannot see
take the first step in faith.

    Chorus Chant

The Winter star will guide you right back into the light
The Winter Star will guide you back into the light
The Winter Star will guide you
The Winter Star will guide you
The Winter Star will guide you
The Winter Star will guide you

    Home.

It's sort of saying that religion is the life that is above all of the dead (winter.) It kind of reminds me of my "What Is A Star Without It's Darkness?" poem. At least, that's how I saw it.
