Yeah I agree, I like the sound of that one
  2. too lazy to read back the past pages to join the discussion, please forgive my ignorance -- not my day today, headache rolling in

just saying, been listening to EBW for days and days now, since the Helsinki shows obviously, and it's still growing on me. It doesn't leave me, I'm singing along when I listen, I even sing along when I don't listen to it, it keeps replaying in my head. The lyrics are strong, they feel really good. This tells me that EBW -- for me personally -- is one of their finest tunes ever. I love it. Like MOS, this one won't leave me for many years to come. I'm grateful.

/throwing my useless two pennies into the room

but here's why I came online in the first place (gosh, I'm really confused today):

some of you have said it's a pretty easy tune Edge is playing on EBW. Anyone here who can provide me with the guitar chords (or whatever that is called)? I'd like to try it on my own guitar (and fail as always). Any input appreciated. I'm off to bed now, calling in sick
  3. I will give it a try on guitar this evening when I get home, I wanted to do it the other day but I chose to sleep a bit more So this afternoon/evening I'll try to get the basic chord structure and some of the riffs (and post them in the Guitar thread of course).

PS. No two-pennies coming from you are useless, Kirsten! Never!
  4. Does anybody think there is going to be a best of 2000-2010? If so, they should really release another album by the end of the year, even if it is an 8 song EP. I also think that an album which is a supplement to NLOTH will raise the stature of the album over time.
  5. very much appreciated, Sergio, thank you

  6. Has anyone pointed out that Every Breaking Wave sounds a lot like the intro from The Fly Elevation-style? I didn't notice it, someone on Youtube did (which could have very well been someone here)...just thought that was interesting.

I pointed that out, but on another forum. It really sounds like guitar being played underwater...

  8. "Every breaking wave on the shore
Tells the next one there'll be one more"

...this is just a beautiful song. I don't care if its the same old clean-tone-delay...that's what made me love The Edge in the first place. I can't get enough of this. Perform it whatever way you want to, U2, just as long as it doesn't go back into hiding.

So so so true. I would be a very happy person even if they released it just the way that it was performed in Helsinki.
  10. I love the song. I was lucky enough to be in both Helsinki shows, so I witnessed the birth of this song. I can tell you my jaw dropped when I realized I was listening to something I had never heard.

    I'll never forget that moment!

    Couldn't agree more
  12. Like to see U2 doing it better than this

    Great cover.
