1. Favorite at the moment is North Star followed by EBW. Both of which i hope, and think will be bulked out in the studio. They have this kinda 'Stay acoustic' feel to them which means i can't even imagine what they will sound like on the new album. If i heard the acoutic version of 'Stay' first, i wouldn't have dreamed of it electrically sounding like the one of Zooropa. Its kinda exiting
  2. Folks: Every Breaking Wave was already fully recorded for No Line On The Horizon and pulled at the last minute.

That's not to say they haven't reworked it, but the live version is just Bono and the Edge singing it without giving the whole thing away...

I think EBW is going to ROCK.
  3. I think EBW is going to be one of their best songs.

I've fallen in love with it's bare bones.
  4. Agree! It has all the marks of a U2 classic on it. Doesn't make sense that they left it off NLOTH.

  5. Perhaps they're waiting for it to be surrounded by other songs with the same feel and stuff. Don't forget we haven't heard a full version, chances are they left it off NLOTH for good reason, maybe it didn't fit, maybe they're waiting to put it on an even better album.

I people here don't like Mercy, but can you imagine the next U2 record (Songs of Ascent) and its first two singles are Every Breaking Wave and Mercy? Makes my mouth water!
  6. North Star is really starting to grow on me, and it's mostly thanks to that fan made full band version. I'm better able to appreciate it in full form.

Still unimpressed with Every Breaking Wave.
  7. Recent songs we've know of and have heard that are not on No LIne On The Horizon:

    Soon
    Stingray
    Glastonbury
    Every Breaking Wave
    Winter
    North Star
    Mercy

It doesn't make sense to keep delaying the release of an album to me. You've got a pretty damn good EP right there. And by Friday we'll hear a song from the Spider Man musical.

They should release an EP by the end of the year and then a full album before June 2011.
  8. Tie between Stingray and Every Breaking Wave. Stingray makes me think of Pop and is a brilliant opener. And I've fallen in love with Every Breaking from the first time I heard it. Amazing songs.

  11. is all my life a spider man song???? i love that song id love to hear a version of it apart from that beach clip
  12. Just thought it'd be worth noting, I happened to watch the video on U2.com where Gavin goes through the white board that has the songs on it and what needs to be done still, and Every Breaking Wave is on the board as one of the songs that's to be finished for NLOTH. Nothing new, just another sign that perhaps they have a recorded version that's almost finished and was menat to be on NLOTH. Was it not on NLOTH because it wasn't finished though? Or because they were waiting to put it on a different album?
