1. I've got somewhat of a lost hope for songs that were rehearsed way back in Barcelona and then never mentioned again. They had the idea, the idea left. They're trying out new ideas now- I Will Follow, Batman, new songs...I doubt they even remember trying those songs out anymore.
  2. I wouldn't mind more NLOTH songs tried out like Stand Up Comedy and Fez.

Yeah, thats true. But maybe for the new leg Batman being replaced for EBTTRT, i dont think that is a strange idea or is it ?

Not necessarily- I like the idea of them putting that in an encore!
  5. I am hoping for the following:

Tryin To Throw Your Arms Around The World in place of In A Little While. If they want a slow song, Throw is a far better song than IALW and also far less played than IALW. It would be so special. They soundchecked it multiple times. What's the holdup, guys?

Drowning Man. Another soundcheck that vanished. This needs a live debut. Replace MLK with Drowning Man.

No Line On The Horizon needs to come back. As does The Unforgettable Fire.

Crazy Tonight Remix should alternate with a full, dance rock Discotheque from night to night. Snippets are nice but I would love for this song to make a comeback. I think the time is right.

  6. Agree, even if they screw up, it's better to have tried.

Really?! Must have missed that, are there any recordings?? IALW is so, so boring.....

  8. They rehearsed it for Turin i guess. But i think its a great idea to replace IALW for TTTYA we are all getting bored of IALW

  9. Sadly, none that I've found.

    It was reported here though:

    http://www.u2gigs.com/article659.html

IALW is a song I have despised since day one. It probably would have vanished into deserved limbo if Joey Ramone hadn't gone and died listening to it. Now Bono will never let the song die. Ever.

Why and how it's made its way to a regular slot in the setlist is beyond me. Why it has been retained past The Unforgettable Fire and NLOTH is even more of a mystery.

    Go away, IALW.

    Sorry about the mini-rant.
  10. In A Little While is a good song but should not be played during every show...

How's Miss Sarajevo working out? I was a bit disappointed they decided to bring it back for EVERY show. It was indeed a, if not THE, highlight of the Vertigo Tour, but now it seems they're trying to go to the well too many times.

I've probably said it at least five times since last summer but I'll say it again...EBTTRT deserves to come back as does something "upbeat" from Pop - and LEMON, too!!!! The music U2 made in the 90's was great...why can't the band realize this and play more of it? Even the casual fans know and will enjoy it!

P.S. I see the irony (I think this is an example of irony - damn you Alanis) in my post that Miss Sarajevo was recorded in the 90's.
  11. You're Canadian, man. Alanis writes for you

I'm tired of thinking of possible setlist changes. I'm more into the "Give the crowd what they want, and let them enjoy!" phase right now - specially in countries that get less (or first) visits by the band like Russia, Greece or Turkey. I wouldn't stand 3 identical setlists in a 3-night-residency at Croke Park, but I don't demand constant set changes between "normal" concerts, either.

  12. Seriously ?

Just type in "U2 rehearsal drowning man" on Youtube and there it is...

Anyway, it was definately rehearsed mutliple times before Barcelona and for those interested, this is probably the best recording :
