    ;;;;;;;

Does anyone understand my point? Probably not, but it's quite hard to explain in writing.

I get your point. I disagree as I think all opinion on music is subjective (why else would anyone ever have liked the Spice Girls?) but your point is clear.

Unfortunately I almost didn't read it because of how rude your first sentence was. You really do need to watch that (and I speak officially now) as we have been warning you for months / years about it and it absolutely cannot be tolerated. You say yourself you must be more diplomatic. This is very true. How about typing in Word or something first, read it through and only then posting it here. Might help, at least for a bit.

    Just a suggestion...
  2. House Rule 1. Don't bee an annoying dick
  3. The best part of the studio version is the sort of solo/riff after 'Feelllll noothing!'

  4. Same guitar part as the chorus, just louder that time around. Chorus is the best part for me, that guitar line playing and Bono singing "Love hears when I lie/Love puts the blue back in my eye"...one my favorite lyrics of U2 of all time.
  5. instead of the "because, because, because" part which seems to be turning a lot of people off the new version, they could try sumthing like "just 'cuz we can, it doesnt mean we must"
  6. Or they could just do the original one that most U2 fans well in love with in the first place.

By the way, I know i"m late in asking this, but does anyone have an HQ quality clip of Mercy? (the original recording) I have one on my ipod, but it's an mp3 from youtube and the quality is garbage.

    Thanks.
  7. Ok I've had a few listens to it and I officially prefer the studio version.

I prefer the studio chorus over the "because, because, because" mantra and I like the binary code lyric that was omitted from live version. And I like the fact that it was a 6 1/2 minute epic ballad.

I'm not complaining though because in my wildest dreams I never thought they'd play it before officially releasing it. Just a surreal addition to the live concert. Who says their setlists are boring???
  8. I enjoyed it live. Wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it sounds nice. And it's way better than Glastonbury, to say the least.

  9. It it true that there is no high quality mp3 ? apparently the original upload all those years back was only 128 kbps Mp3 (or WMA) and all the supposed 'high quality' versions floating around are just transcodes of that file into a higher bitrate. There was no good quality rip done direct from the CD.
    Can anyone confirm this?

    Don't give Bono ideas!

And you're probably the biggest Mercy fan on here.

I also can't believe the took out the binary code (violins/Nero) couplet which was possibly the best line in the entire song. It doesn't seem quite right with the short intro.

There was never a problem with the melody of the studio chorus, just the lyrics could have been more subtle. Now they've gone the complete opposite direction and changed it to a jarring, uptempo one with dismally bad lyrics.
