1. I'll never get why Brandon changed his vocal style after the Hot Fuss era. it went from a smooth, Simon LeBon-esque type affair to a nervous tremble, which fits some songs but would be best left off others.

he's still my favourite new vocalist of the last decade, though.
  2. Originally posted by LikeASong:Chris Martin and Matt Bellamy are far better singers than Brandon. Their vocal range is much wider and their singing style varies a lot more. Brandon uses to sing as if he was afraid of his voice!! Instead of squeezing it as Bono or Bellamy do.

Just listen to Chris Martin live, he's voice is nice, but weak, he can't sing songs the way they're on album. Bellamy is one of the best voices in rock ever, and I guess that he's an educated singer because he does some awesome things with his voice.
  3. woops

Off topic but i agree chris martins voice isn't particularly strong especially havig seen them live twice. Bellamy is good but seems gimicky to me. He can only really sing well in one way imo

  5. mate, you dont like it, we get it, big wup...
  6. Bought Flamingo today, there's a few good numbers on it (Only The Young, Jilted Lovers and Broken Hearts come to mind). There are a few other ones. Overall the record doesn't provide much variety, but what it tries to do it does well in my opinion. I'm glad this isn't the next Killers record we're hearing, but I can definitely feel more of Brandon's personality in this album, which is cool. The next Killers album is supposed to be "different" (maybe like JT-AB transition?) so I'm absorbing this as a farewell to the Sam's Town/Day and Age feel of their music.

    Overall, I'd give it a 7.75/10.

I see you've changed the tone of your review quite considerably from your earlier post (which you removed) which was nowhere near as flattering.

Which is interesting because you said most of the songs sound the same and that Brandon uses words like "Devil" etc. a lot. And that was precisely what most of the criticism of the album centred on.

  8. Sergio,
Are you going to see Brandon this week? For me it was the perfect way to go down on earth after U2's gig in Brussels, the songs were good, the perfect venue (2K people), the crowd really into it but it was a little bit to short... Hope you have as fun as I did... the fact that this venue was sold-out would mean that he's now at the same level as the killers were at the end of 2006 in belgium...

We finally didn't get tickets, for two reasons: those extra-short promo concerts (13 songs? wtf... it didn't get you pumped for the tour, at all) and the fact that he's playing way too less Killers songs that we'd like to...
  10. new music video. quite beautiful.

  11. Nice video, and a nice song too.

Yep. I decided that I should give it another chance or two before reviewing, which I did, and I liked it more after listening to it a bit more. They still do sounds the same for a lot of the time, but there are a few good numbers on there (the ones I mentioned). And I should have left that part in about the lyrics. Brandon needs to find some new inspiration or something, because his lyrics are getting old fast.
