So for this whole week, I've been utterly obsessed with My Chemical Romance. It's because I'm seeing them in a few weeks and I'm so excited that it's unreal. They just released a new song called "Na Na Na" and it's unbelievably catchy. It's hard to listen to another band without wanting to listen to My Chemical Romance.
Going into a Muse phase again, with abit of Linkin Park in there throughout the last week. It was Keane month before that, and with Ladytron getting a new album out i'll probably be getting into them abit more again.
My musical obsessions are often short, like flings. Only a few have survived for longer, out of which U2 is the winner BY FAR.
Got obsessed with them back in 1983 around the release of War and UABRS, and since then U2 has accompanied me through school, friendships, good jobs, bad jobs, getting married, becoming a father, divorce, etc.
Seeing them live is always special, from my first one (during the JT tour), through all tours up until the last one I saw around two weeks ago in Brussels, with my 18 year old son and 11 year old daughter.
I guess it's fair to say there will not be another band with the same longlasting impact on my life...
U2, The Killers and RHCP, I dont listen to U2 so much at the moment, dont know why but some songs I dont really like anymore now, it will come again that I know for sure.
Not exactly "obsessed", but I'm hearing a lot of Crowded House lately, as well as the usual Muse, Snow Patrol, The Killers, REM, Oasis, John Mayer and ACDC.
U2 plays on other league, though. I can live listening to not more than 2 or 3 U2 songs a day, but they're present on my life much more than all the other bands together.
