Yes, NLOTH kind of sucks after a while. I think it contains one of the most horrible U2 songs to date - Crazy Tonight. I listened to the live version in Barcelona II; I really find it horrible. If they had thrown in Winter instead, the album would have been a lot better. Still, they got about half of the album right. Let's hope they make it two halves the next time.

Totally agree with JuJuman about Crazy Tonight on the album. Horrible, typical of the overproduced recent output.
  2. 5, I'm mad at them because they are not coming to latinamerica because it's too expensive for them. I want to see them live, I don't mind if they can't bring the claw. Just play using a regular stage and we will still love them

I'm not too happy with then, but hey, they're my favorite band.

I think they're too "comercial" in my opinion, realeasing old stuff in a lot of formats instead of releasing new stuff, wich they'd said was about to come in early 2010. I also think they're kind of lost in their work. They should release all the stuff they had instead of choose just one line of work. also think they could play more songs during the tour. I also want they here in Brazil, and Bono is talking a lot, but I can't see too much result.

In other hand, the tour is great, even if I'm not satisfied with the number of different songs they're playing, and they released Magnificent, a piece of art in my opinion.

    Greetings from Brazil

Mate, u only need to use capitals at the start of a sentence but ur a chelsea fan so i shouldnt expect too much
  5. Suppose I'll resurrect this and give credit to the boys. I was pissed off that there was no Irish date on this leg, no SoA, no Breathe on the DVD which has all subsided. Plus they didn't play Glasto (still think that would have been a mistake).

I'm gonna go for 7.5/10. They've mixed things up though BD as an opener is just bizarre.

Still live in hope that there's one, last, all-conquering great tune out there that they're going to give us. And hope for the day when they go back to being what they were best at, being original and comfortable within themselves. And not, as Pitchfork call them, 'Y'all 2' .

    They're doing pretty good though.

  6. i'm probably an 8.5 (popular number, i know), after the Pop release and tour, and realising Bono would never get his voice back i was around a 5. But those first 5 songs on ATYCLB and the NY city pre tour show got me back into the game, and I didn't think i would be a bigger fan than when they played walk on on the 9/11 benefit show on television. But after seeing them a couple times in LA on the vertigo tour AND finding this great site shortly there after i was deffinitely at a 10! Again only to be brought down by the average NLOTH and the surprisingly average first Euro and US leg of 360, even after seeing them in Pasadena, it still wasn't enough to get me above a 7, and when the summer US 360 was canceled(no fault of their own), I didn't help things either. But then, they kicked off the euro leg this summer and i followed the entire leg on this site. The setlist really gelled, with the many rock songs up front, and with the debut of new songs in a live setting they had me hooked, again. So now they go to a few other spots on the globe and i still have to wait 9 months to see them again, lots could change. But if they get out an album of songs that surpasses NLOTH, and they continue to work on changing the set for each leg, they could have me back a t a 10 by the time they get back to USA. My only hope for the band is that they play "Trying to throw your arms around the world" as well as songs from the second half of Joshua Tree when they do return on the 360 stage.
  7. I'm MUCH happier with the band now, compared to this month of 2009. Much happier. They've shown us that they have balls and know how to enjoy themselves onstage.
  8. If you had asked me that in the week after the 2 Brussels 2010 shows, I would have said 9.5/10! Connecting with them live is what U2 is all about and they never ever disappointed me in that. Without the U2 gigs, my life would be a very different one.

But waking up a few weeks later now, I'm regaining my normal sense of perspective and I would say 7/10. It's their incredible low output and the constant postponing of new albums that gets on my nerves massively! such inherent laziness! Never want to hear this SOA lie again. (mustn't get myself angry, otherwise the mark will drop further....)

  9. * Just had one of the best legs of their career
    * I was at multiple shows
    * New songs being tried live
    * Changing set-lists
    * Potential EP/LP release in the not too distant future

    Whats not to like? 9/10

I think you have a very negative attitude in life, maybe some training might help. Seriously, simple things can work wonders for people who simply cannot get themselves to feel happy about anything.

I'd say 10/10. U2 is actually what makes me most happy in life, well besides of my work and my art maybe. I'm on a constant high this year from seeing so many great show and I feel totally blessed with this band, simply because it makes me happy to know they exist. I love having them in my life, they are such a positive force for me and make me feel better whenever I feel down. I'm sad right now because the tour is over for me, but there are so many great memories and so much to look forward to (new projects, albums, more concerts to follow at least in the media). I'm also very excited about the new stuff and I love how they played the unreleased songs when no one really expected them to.

Actually, I don't expect much from U2 because I don't feel the band owes me anything. I'm happy with whatever they decide to do. For all I know they could have stopped making musik by now and retired, so I'm simply glad they are still around. Of course there are always things I don't agree with or things I'd change, but overall I just decided some time ago to concentrate on the positive side of things when it comes to U2 because life is complicated and frustrating enough. Right now I just feel so blessed to have seen so many great shows and I really couldn't be more happier with this band.

That first part is really bullshit why would he be negative about everything if he just isnt happy with the long waiting time for an album ?

    For me its 8/10 currently
Im really happy with them trying new songs during the last part of the tour, the most of those new songs are great and I'm really enjoying them. I also still like the old songs they play on the tour and currently im rediscovering Rattle And Hum and I really enjoy that too.

But I also agree that it is a bit frustrating that they dont bring an new album out as soon as possible. but maybe we have to think: How longer it takes how better the album will be ! ! at least that is what im hoping for. Im also looking forward to the next Leg in Australia and NZ, I'm very intrested in what changes they will make in the setlist there

Thanks Bart, for helping me out here !

@Cypress: My God you are quick to judge people! I wouldn't call 9,5/10 or even 7/10 a "very negative attitude". Come on Sylvia, it's just an opinion in response to the question.... You are entitled to your positivism. Are you perhaps a solution-oriënted trainer in real life or what? Best regards!
