1. Unfortunately, I have not had enough time to continually work on an idea and write since school began. However, during Thanksgiving break, this is what I wrote:

    Falling Through The Night

Can you move in spot light?
Can your body tell you what you’re doing right?
Will it make a difference if I lose my might?
Just cast a spell, and make it right
Moving right along, falling through the night

    We’re you waiting on me?
If you tell the truth, will it set you free?
Can I change the world, but just for me?
    Editing the backdrop of history
Moving right along, falling through the night

If you do it right, falling through the night
    Everything unclear is right
    The stars align, I recognize
That your every move is right

    Don’t show me you’re right
Don’t tell me when I’m losing sight
Don’t tell me when I’m losing might
Don’t tell me who I am in my spot light
Moving right along, falling through the night

If you do it right, falling through the night
    Everything unclear is right
    The stars align, I recognize
That your every move is right
    ----------------------------------------------------------

It's sort of about someone who is dreaming about listening to other people's dreams, but are they really his/her own (find next week, on...)? I honestly got the idea from imagining myself walking through a local park with a girl while trying to fall asleep one night. Then, for whatever reason, I pictured someone falling out of the sky (while it is night... aha). I'm really unsure of this song's future, I think it might be just a "buffer" song, that helps me "get back into it."
  2. I do not have a title or lyrics in mind for this yet. I just thought that I'd share this little demo that I recorded in ten minutes with y'all.

I came up with it last night, and I had the strong urge to record it today. The drum beat is just something from my RP250.
  3. Wow nick, this instrumental piece is great! it has got quite some potential!
  4. Whoa Nick that's awesome...that clean tone strum towards the beginning there...that was really cool, lotta texture

  5. Thanks man.

Thanks man. It's all modulated by the RP250 (meaning that you can exactly replicate the sound with your RP and Les Paul, if you have the time / want to. ).

There are no keys in that?!?!
  7. Liking the stuff you guys are putting forward

In particular, Matt, I've had your piece 'First Snow' stuck in my head for the last few days now, really getting a good vibe from it. Would love to hear more if you ever get 'round to fleshing it out some.

The music will stay very similar to what you've heard in the demo, throughout the whole song. Levels will change, and the guitar will double up at times, but the song will be- hopefully- a much more lyrical piece set to that chiming rhythm in the background through most of the song. The right lyrics just haven't hit yet- but trust me, they're close. I compile more and more key lines every day, and hopefully I'll have the creative energy to make them gel this week.

Thanks for your kind words, they serve as more motivation than anything

  9. I meant the guitar sound lol. Yes, the first version of the melody and the backing chords are played on the keyboard.
  10. Wrote a whole slew of lyrics last week.

    "Influence"

    Chokin' on your common sense
    You've got no given influence
    You're makin' money, makin' friends
Guess selfish never found an end

And I can see for what you're worth
All for better, none for worse
    Stealing hearts and breaking homes,
Just blood for someone else's bones

    [Chorus]
And you'll never see it, no
You're sweeping all that you can steal
    Busy looking down
When your feet should be on the ground
    You plead ignorant innocence
    To someone else's influence
    -
    Sittin' pretty on the fence
You've got no listed love for rent
    No possessions to receive
No mold here in which to believe

    [Chorus]

    Dollars dwindle into cents
You've bought back all your influence
I'm still learning how to walk
As I watch you stumble as you talk

    Workin' on your alibi
So you won't have as much to hide
But I'll never have to shed my skin
To show myself what I could have been

    [Chorus]

really really good, any ideas for guitar to go with it?
  12. I like it a lot, Matt!! Sittin' pretty on the fence, no listed love for rent, sounds nice

    What does "mold" mean?

Working on your alibi reminds me inevitaly to Mr. Brightside
