2011-02-18 - Cape Town
Tour: U2 360° Tour
Songs played: 25
Audio recordings: 5

  1. It means The Edge tuned his guitar a half step up than he usually does.

  2. Song sounded a little higher pitched than before. If you listen to the album version and any other live version of COBL, you can tell that the live versions are played lower so that they are easier for Bono to sing. If you listen to the album version and the Cape Town one, they sound the same.

This had to be a mistake or something...why would they have done this?
  3. so for me who has no idea about this stuff, would the reason for doing that be to match Bono's voice, in means of how high or low he can sing that day?
and would that maybe mean that during Popmart the songs were tuned lower than let's say these days?
  4. if it was done only in 2010 and 2011 then it could be the fact that Miss Sarajevo was played before (same key?) and makes the transition between the two smoother?

Funny, I thought her harmonies and the touch of her voice absolutely made the track, and it was probably one of my favorite parts- if not my favorite part- of the show.

That was a huge plus for me, but it seemed like icing on the cake that was a phenomenal show. Sure the setlist was "standard" but it was very well done. The full-on addition of Stand By Me after ISHFWILF is an amazing combination, probably second best only to the Bad / The First Time (basically full song snippet) combination.

I JUST rediscovered that version of Bad with The First Time in it. Holy shit that's like one of the best versions of Bad ever.

Yeah, the Chicago one is incredible. First time The First Time (lol) ever got any attention at all.

  8. I love the WIDE AWAKES bono hits. his voice is typical Vertigo tour, kind of raspy and dead but pure emotion. Idk what was in him that leg but jesus Bad was great that night.
