1. love the new record, it's the freshest and most "R.E.M." they've sounded in years.

Discoverer and Uberlin are my standouts so far, though i'm chuffed to bits with most of the tracks.
  2. I have good expectations for these album, I will hear it tomorrow.. I'm curious, what you people who already hear it think about ?

  3. I like it A LOT!
  4. Being an R.E.M. fan, i have to say this new album's their most consistent and greatest effort since New Adventures In Hi Fi (1996)...Ergo, It's without question their best Post Bill Berry record...Heeeeell Yeah

    +1000000000 Amen! ! !

  5. i finally succeeded to listen to the album; by now i find it very pleasant .. level higher than accelerate.
lots of things remind the old times and this looking backward, for band such REM, gives me "strange" sensations .. like the cover..
anyway i put it first in my personal 2011 chart with, for now, highlights on Uberlin, Oh my heart, Me marlon brando .. and Blue (a very good e-bow letter part II).
very glad to hear back the Priestess of Rock
  6. Really like this album Addicted to Uberlin, Oh My Heart, Every Day Is Yours to Win, etc. I think the only songs I don't care for are Mine Smell Like Honey (sounds so cliche for them), Walk It Back, and It Happened Today. Really good album
  7. amazing thing ending the album like it starts .. makes it sort of circular
  8. I was listening to Collapse Into Now again today, to Oh My Heart to be precise. And paying attention to the lyrics. It struck me that this song, seen in the light of recent events in Japan, has a very special bit:

I came home to a city half erased.
I came home to face what we faced.

This place needs me here, to start.
This place, is the beat, of my heart.

    Quite beautiful

After dining on the rustic Italian fare, Bono emerged on the street to see if he could give away some records for Stipe's band, R.E.M. A spy reports, "He was asking people loitering outside if they wanted a CD. Bono was largely ignored, with some looking at him like he was a crazy person until one girl recognized him and snapped up the disc." Just as well he wasn't giving out "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" tickets.

I wonder if this is a bad sign for the album or for Bono...
  10. Discoverer was palyed before the 2nd show in Argentina
  11. Bump kind of

  12. I kile it, Genaro. But let me tell you that What's The Freq. K. is a must in my opinion... Imitation Of Life and So. Central Rain are personal favorites of mine, but I would include them in a 30-songs Best Of so why not throwing them for your compilation too?
