If this album seriously drops in May I will be shocked. If it comes in 2014 I'll be even more surprised.

I don't expect it for May even though Im hoping SOOO MUCH
  2. naturally i haven't read the dutch site LOL .. but could it be talking about the Universal compilation which is going to come out in the next days to raise money for Japan?

Yep, its about the charity CD.
  4. Do you think we'll get a "new" song or a live version of an old one or what? I was wondering about Every Breaking Wave... but would that be in poor taste?

Didn't think about that but possible...then again, it's really not related to that at all. If "Drowning Man" was played for the entire 360 Tour, would they really skip it? Maybe... Interesting debate.

Yeah, I already thought that maybe Every Breaking Wave wouldnt be a big succes for Japan
Lets hope it is a new song..
  7. I'm OK with the fact that they don't know where to go now. A lot of people in any career feel like that from time to time. They are coming off the biggest tour of all time though so I feel like they should release SOMETHING, even if it's in time for Christmas. If they don't know which direction they're going to take, why don't they do something like release a two (or three disc) CD with the best of 2000-2010 on one disc, the b-sides on the other, and on the third the "where we're headed" disc. Throw on the new songs from the tour (Return Of The Stingray Guitar, North Star, Glastonbury, Every Breaking Wave, Mercy, Boy Falls From The Sky) and a couple of new tracks like one from David Guetta and one from Danger Mouse. They could gauge where they should go by the response from these new songs.

Because they don't have enough material to be put on a Best of without repeating themselves. Same goes for B-Sides.
As for the 3rd disc you mention, that would mean that they have complete and (for them) satisfying versions of those tracks. I highly doubt that they have that.

walk on is the song u2 have put in that charity cd?
  10. I think it's easy to forget sometimes that U2 are not the only band who talk about upcoming albums that then don't eventuate on the planned schedule. I just happened upon the January 2011 issue of Rolling Stone and spotted a page on the various upcoming albums.

Of the albums on the page, only about half have made it onto the shelves so far. Foo Fighters, 'Wasting Light' is out; Britney's 'Femme Fatale' is just out; Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way' will be out any day now; but Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Lil Wayne and (of course) U2 are yet to show.

In conclusion, at least they're not the only band dicking around
