also, I'd love to see Edge sit at a piano and perform October solo.

    I never noticed either.

It just melts so well in with Bono I guess.

I do like Edge's version very much though, as it brings something completely different to the song. Does anyone know why they/he performed the song that way? I know they had not performed the song for some time and sort of re-discovered it for Sarajevo, but why was Edge singing it?

    WHAT!?

Oh come on! The Jay-Z version sucked donkey balls, by comparison.

  3. Glad this is getting some much needed attention. Edges vocals to me are so important. They really make alot of songs, especially live as the article suggests. Ultraviolet is a great example. I would love to hear a song where B and Edge trade lead vocals again kinda like Seconds. Edges voice is an asset id like to see utilized even more in the studio
  4. great article, cheers for posting.
  5. Each U2 show could "use" having Edge do a song or two. It would give Bono's voice a rest mid-show and provide a little variety to the concert.

Maybe they'll bring back "Numb" for this ZooTV celebration they are apparently doing.
  6. For me U2 has two excellent vocal weapons, the best vocalist and the best backing vocalist.

  7. Edge s best Performace is for me Van Diemen's Land
  8. I agree, I think that Edge has a relly good voice, he's the perfect complement for the voice of Bono, and for the way in wich he sings, because Bono has a strong and very passional voice and Edge has a soft voice and I think it's more melodic and I think that this combination is amazing.

My favorite songs, talking about Edge vocals, are Lemon, Heartland, Zoo Station.....

  9. ^ yeah, Edge's little monologues in Lemon are great.

Heartland's backing vocals are probably his best, they're breathtaking.
  10. I always thought his vocals made New Years Day.
