1. Wow.Sorry Sergio.I didnt mean to offend you.Just using an example.I guess since I heard the band play Stay at my show at Giants Stadium '09,I think it was the second night,it wouldnt kill me to not hear it this summer,at my shows.

What about the other songs I listed, are those ok ??

Im not comparing the songs.A rotation of older songs, and new songs would be nice.Yes,Stay is a classic, and by far the standout track on Zooropa.WOWY is also a fantastic song, with great lyrics. But do we have to hear it EVERY NIGHT ? The band didnt play it often in 2005.Bono felt it "needed a rest".

ISHFWILF is a classic. The band have stopped playing it.AIWIY is one of my favorite songs. The song wasnt in the set for ages.Im very pleased its in the set now.IMO,its their best song, with Bad.

I was listening to the ZooTV tour the other day.Sydney.Numb came on.The intro words reminded me of the new songs."They want new material. The older stuff has been repeated too many times. You cant sell the same thing to the same old crowd forever." How true.

Stay is U2's most beautiful song. North Star is nothing compared to Stay.

Watch Stay from the second Mexico City concert and you're mind will completely change.

LOL.I love the song.I didnt say the band shouldnt play it.Rotate it, on a nightly basis. My point is,dont ignore the new material.

Speaking of Numb, how sick would that be as an encore. With Bono singing background.

Since the band played Your Blue Room,I think anything is possible.
  3. ok ok, I thought you were comparing them!! No problem with prefering one over the other - although I would prefer to hear Stay for the second time rather than NS for the first

Agreed.Just saying as far as rotating.Example.When the band play 2 nights in the same city (Montreal),rotate Stay > NS or Numb.

Oh right, I thought you meant permanently. I think they should just forget the new material. Half of the stuff was crap.

Your Blue Room must return. It's such a nice song.

    ^^ SOO TRUE
  7. I'm thinking how many of you really think Stay is their best and how many of you think that because Bono said it...
  8. Stay is undoubtedly one of their best songs. The acoustic version is just a little uninspiring.

  9. HA!

I've loved "Stay" since July 6, 1993. I only heard Bono's comment a few year's ago...although he may have said it (many times) before, I heard him say it in the Buffalo show of the Elevation Tour.

    Man, I'm a U2 nerd.

  10. I hope they skip both Stuck and Stay in Minneapolis and play something a bit more rockin'.

On my U2 scale of songs, I'd rate Stay a 5/10. But that's only my opinion.

  11. I kinda like it which is weird cuz i cant stand Stuck acoustic I love stay in any form. Although in a perfect world they'd be playing it close to the 93 adelaide version loveee that one

  12. It's been in my Top Ten for much, much longer than the Rolling Stone magazine has been on my shell.

It's a great, moving song with amazing vocal performance and an overall decaddent feeling that they haven't achieved since (maybe in Please and If You Wear TVD... , but not quite the same either). The amazing videoclip helps too. And the fact that it's the nicest single ever released by U2 does, too.

And I'll cross swords with anybody who denies that
