Sorry for the ambiguity there, I was referring to rehearsing songs that have yet to be played on this tour such as "The Fly" or songs like "Bad" that they haven't played in a while. I am also predicting NYD but I'm sure they could churn that one out in their sleep.

For sure. I can't see them playing anything at Glasto they haven't trialled in front of an audience in the last few months. Their musicianship is just not up to it.
  4. I think they will bring quite a few new songs to Glasto, mainly because they have mentioned in interviews that their festival setlist will differ from their tour setlist. I also agree with the sentiment that they will not bring any songs that they haven't played in front of a crowd before. For these reasons, I expect the next 360 Tour shows to have a bit of new (old) material thrown in. The best way to prepare a song is to play it in front of a crowd and there's no better crowd than the ones they gather at their gigs.

If they decide to bring The Fly (which is highly likely), they need to bring it in its best form, as seen here.

As good as this is, I want, no need, that Boston 2001 intro.

Note: That's the third time in about 10 minutes I've referenced the Boston DVD tonight.

that stage and set-up seems so small now compared to U2's new spaceship

  8. yet it was awesome! I´m getting to the conclusion i like arena shows more... but that´s offtopic!

  9. I like the talk of an Elevation/Vertigo Tour fusion of The Fly. This would produce a totally killer song in more ways than I can describe.

And regarding the stadium/arena side discussion, I think there are certain songs that work well in one setting, but not the other. Regarding the Glasto setting, I think a stadium style set would work best.

Actually, if U2 played a set that had the same rough feel as their Elevation Tour Slane concert, they will definitely rock the house. They need to start with an assertive song that takes command of the stage. Personally, I think starting out with EBTTRT (360 style) or CoBL (vertigo style) would achieve that effect.
  10. Most welcome for it. Hopefully not acoustic though.
  11. That. Is. Awesome. Finally.
