1. '09 just edges it for me but likely just 'cos I was there. Seems so long ago now! It's been a truly awesome tour.
  2. When you tour for an album, you play as many songs from that album as you can
in 09 they played 7 songs from NLOTH, that's good
Now they cut it down to 4, this is hardly a tour for NLOTH anymore, it's a greatest hits tour
favorite is 09 but I like Mercy and Zooropa
for some reason I think 11 will end up as my favorite just cause it will be my first concert ever (7/14 Philadelphia, who else will be there?)
  3. thinking of the songs played ... uhm hard to decide
    thinking of perfomances ... 2010 .. Bono's voice was in a form we couldn't hear since 1993

Yeah well that's what everybody says of course, but remember it's officially called the 360°-tour and not the No Line On The Horizon-Tour.
So basically they don't need to stick to the album and promote it...

  5. that would be awesome !

    leave out the hitsingles and make the coolest setlist ever;

the no-line songs (with unknown caller as the best imo),
    the new material,
the old- never hear them anymore-songs like unforgettable, out of control, zooropa,
and of course the -special occasion-songs like one tree hill

mix that up and 360 will be the best tour ever !
  6. Any year that brought a full band Zooropa to the setlist wins by default: 2011.

Seriously though, I think the setlist is the best it's been all tour long. Not best ever, but best of this tour. I wasn't so into the "new songs" in 2010 - they seemed to have just halted the show. The band just seemed to be noodling around a bit whenever they would play a new song...I'd rather have a deep cut (like Your Blue Room) slow the show down then a totally unknown song. And I never was a fan of Stingray opening the show, or Beautiful Day. So 2010 may be the worst of the three years for me.

2009 was the year for No Line on the Horizon...which was a great year, but it ended up being an album they didn't want to play 7 songs from three years later. I really wish NLOTH and Unknown Caller stuck around instead of Boots and Magnificent, but all in all the setlist in 2011 is better. One final reason 2009 can't be the best year of the three: that terrible mask idea during Walk On. Remember that? I wish I didn't
  7. My view is that the band started off the tour very strong. The tour was new and the band was full of energy and excitement with their new toys (especially the steering wheel mic that Bono LOVES to play with). During 2010, the band was starting to realize that the new material wasn't getting the audience response they wanted, so they decided to bring in some new material, but with mixed results. Although the break that the band got while Bono was recovering from his back injury did help them develop new material, I felt like the band was tired at times, especially after some of the NLOTH material was dropped. 2011 is looking to be a great year for the band. They played in South Africa, South America, and are now back in North America. While all the 2011 performances so far have been nothing short of amazing, I want to note that there is a distinct difference in the energy that the band is putting out between the South American leg and the North American leg. More specifically, I feel that the band's performances from Denver onward have been easily the best EVER. As of now, Denver and Seattle are the top two bootlegs from this tour. Yes, there's EBTTRT, Zooropa, AIWIY, and Stay, but even the songs that have been on the tour since the start feel as if there's new life breathed into them.

Look at Until The End Of The World. I never thought that song could rock any harder than it does, but then they go and extend it a bit. Those "bass and drums" never fail to send shivers down my spine. The new version of Magnificent, although it took them a while to get into it, is fantastic. The increased tempo and the fact that Bono isn't trying to compete with the prerecorded material anymore makes it a great addition. Beautiful Day is back in its usual spot with it's amazing Celtic intro. Adding the poem/video feed in the intro, while cheesy at times, is another great add. Streets has always been amazing, but mixing up the snippets that lead into it has really added to that awesomeness. My personal favorite is "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow."

Long story short, 2011 is definitely the best part of this tour and it's only going to get better.
