  1. "Please" segue into Streets would be a good one for glastonbury; it was one of the best segues into Streets they've EVER done and I still think it's great, they should so re-use it, just saying...

Something just really magical/spiritual about how Bono sings "please" in falsetto through into Streets. I don't know what it is, I can't explain it, it just... hits me real deep. One of the perfected moments performed by U2.

  2. Sat in my front hall surrounded by clutter, waiting for last couple of clean clothes to dry. Back to Norwich tonight, then to London tomorrow, then Glastonbury in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Great excite. Man it'll be amazing if they play an AB-themed set. WILD HORSES PLEASE GUYS.

We'll get to talk to you before you go, won't we? I hope so, at least. Will you have internet connection once at Glastonbury?
  4. Huh?

“@atu2: Eavis on U2 at Glasto: "They are bringing their own stage with them. We’re having to put a lot of stuff in for them..." http://bit.ly/jMkxZW”
  5. That is The Star though so take it lightly actually.
  6. Adam did mention that they were going to sneak a few bits and pieces through the back
  7. One thing is "we're going to sneak a few bits here and there" and other thing is "They're bringing their own stage with them", you know? ... anyway I would have been VERY surprised if they didn't take at least a bit of B-stage/catwalk and some special screens. Let's see how it is finally, I don't think "their own stage" is very accurate though, they can't take The Claw to Glastonbury so that quote should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I'll have my laptop 'til about this time tomorrow, then I'm just gonna be on my phone 'til next week, which is assuming I'll have decent signal/connection in the fields of Glastonbury lol! Assuming that's so, gonna be updating mostly via. Twitter (@hjwoj) and Facebook - need to set it up so I can send photos from my phone like I did at Wembley and Sheffield in '09 . Also need to bookmark this place on my phone, so with a bit of luck I'll be able to drop by every now and then, but bearing in mind internet on my phone costs an arm and a leg, it'll be in moderation lol.

EDIT - turns out I can't use email on Tesco Mobile without having an iPhone lol...now there's a load of wank. I'll just be text updating then!

I can't see any kind of catwalky/B-stagey thing being set up, I think the stage is their limit and they have the gap between said stage and the crowd - think what Bruce did back in '09, came charging out like a mighty leprechaun to jump into the crowd - probably get something like that again?
  9. This may be a little late BUT, why is this thread called U2 Glastonbury 2011 Battle for Survival

  10. See the first post This was not intended to be a central Glastonbury thread, just a topic to discuss the risks they were going to take and how the music bussiness were going to receive a bad or a good performance by U2 at Glastonbury.

NEVERHTELESS, the time has come. We're just 4 days away of The Big Day... It's time to make this a proper "U2 Hits XXX" thread
