As I see it, McGuiness is a corporate-dollarhunting-moneygrabbing-whore, let's not pretend otherwise. But I actually prefer him coming out like this than making up stupid excuses such as "Please don't blame us. Prices need to be this high because of economic circumstances beyond our control".

Yeah, that's pretty much where I stand on it. Though it does show fairly gigantic balls to think that people won't be offended by him treating the fandom like cash cows.
  2. I'm curious what the band members think about the money-grabbing manager. I'm sure they appreciate the wealth he's accumulated for them but they're probably/hopefully wanting him to apologize for or retract that statement.

  3. but for him and his job we are cash cows like the boys are his golden eggs hens (remaining in animal world )
in his financial mind "till someone is ready to spend that money" it's a fair thing (business man mind) .. there is a simply way .. not buying.
maybe the words are too much but are we sure he said things in that way? nothing changes for me anyway .. he's a business man and think and speak like a business man

you still sound like your sticking up for him - we all blatantly know he thinks and acts that way but did he really have to rub it in our faces?!

Especially since I was planning to purchase one of these remasters...I may have to resort to the unspeakable to spite him.
  6. i honestly think we should put a letter together about this whole issue and send it to u2.com or principle or something. just something from the true die hard fans
cause that shit just isn't acceptable. to come out publicly and say that is an embarrassment and to be completely honest, reading it right now, i am ashamed to be a fan of this band if he is a representative of them and their opinions and morals/what they stand for as a group.
it's not good enough for him to do it and i think the greater u2 community should be made aware of this so u2 can see the type of reaction that will be caused by this

I'm not much of an activist but I'll sign.

You don't want me to compopse the letter, however. I ramble incoherently from time to time - and my grammar is awful - and I hope I just spelled (or is it "spelt?" ) "awful" correctly.

  10. but perhaps something will come of it
just someone to see that we shouldn't have to put up with this type of shit, we're gonna be the ones forking out for it after all

i wouldn't mean for it to do anything substantial

but what i would like something like that to do is to make the band/management or someone aware that we aren't happy with that being said, and just use it as a formal method of complaint, to say that this isn't what we stand for as fans of the band, and if you lose the fans, what else do you have type of thing
