The Fly, One, Bad and Out of Control were the highlights for me. Bono sounded great. The bbc guy talking about the first time he saw U2 in the middle of the show for like forever was hilariously annoying.

Don't forget the weather forecast coming in Almost throw a rock at the tv....

At least it happened during SUnday Bloody Sunday, a song each one of us has heard 390287 times, and not during The Fly or Stay... but yes, what a moron.

Blame the produce. That guy is quite the U2 fan. Always positive towards them. Can't call him a moron for doing his job. U2 aren't Glastonbury.
  3. U2, Achtung Baby and Larry Mullen are all still trending on twitter in the UK. Pretty damn proud of what they did. There's still those who moan but fuck them, they're simple minded if they don't respect the fact that U2 came out of their comfort zone and took a huge risk. I think it paid off too.
  4. Wow shit, didn't mean to post that again?
  5. Joe, I thought the same hahahaa... I was like "FTW? Is this a deja vu? Has the forum gone mad???"... Long live internet weirdness

Larry trended because he looked bored stiff. Not the same playful Larry we have glimpsed at a few shows this year.

Was there a drum loop at the start of wowy? I could hear drums but Larry didn't appear to be playing.

But I prefer it like that. This crowd was not a Point Depot full of U2 fans waiting to be rocked out with Gone, Acrobat and God Part II... This crowd definitely needed well chosen setlist with a lot of energy from the band - and that's what they got. Risky or not, last night's set was very well chosen, the running order was fantastic (I wouldn't have gone from UTEOTW to One, it somehow killed the rockier mood, but anyway) and they pulled out a great performance. The crowd knew that, and although they were quite cold (pun intended) at some points, they gave a warm response to the band as a whole (don't forget that the 95% of this crowd bought their tickets before U2, Coldplay or anyone were announced as headliners, right?) and to most songs in particular. Warmest responses happened during One, I Still Haven't Found, Stay, Bad and Pride, although you could tell that the audience was going to love prety much everything the band decided to play.

I'm proud to be a U2 fan today.

I just meant it as a risk taken to actually play Glastonbury in the first place, it really could have gone either way with the reception but it worked. The set was safe but exciting.

    Very proud too

Ah I see, still trending nevertheless And yeah I thought it was a loop too, couldn't see his left arm though so any be sure.

  9. I thought there always has been, then larry plays along with the drum beat when the rest of the drums come in
  10. thinking that I went to bed halfway through Bad because I really had to, going online now and remembering how it felt last night to watch this all live...... just..... wow. They did it again. After a zillion decades of being right there as rock stars (I don't really like that term), they still have "it".... and as a fan, I feel really good today. Touched. Moved. Call it whatever you like. U2 are still unique
  11. Did you go to bed, K??? You missed the most exciting part of the show! "One more, huh? Got time for one more? This is huh... our first single!"...
  12. So that's it, all the fuzz for that?

Pretty good show with some really weak and some really great moments.
Bono did his best to look like a complete idiot. And he did a pretty good job with that. Embarrassing.
Set was playing tt safe but mostly good choices. Some of the old warhorses really came back to life.

Nowhere near a classic or memorable gig especially for a festival slot but one of the better U2 shows lately.
