Oh, all right. Instead of playing "Crazy" they could have played ... "Lemon."

I really think they should play 2-3 songs acoustic a night! Just divides up the show nicely and i like the Bono and The Edge together... songs like Stay, Stuck in A Moment, North Star, Yahweh, Kite, Staring at The Sun, For The First Time, Party Girl, SYCMIOYO, In a Little While, Van Diemen's Land, Wake Up Dead Man, and any other acoustic songs they can reinvent. The possibilities really are quite endless with just the acoustic guitar when it's done right... and The Edge definitely has the skills

  3. Not more Zooropa! xD
  4. This was my first U2 show ever and I loved it. The sound was great most of the time, but there were times when everything sort of bleeded together. Could have been the seats we were in (secton 229, five rows from the top). Overall, the music was great. Counldn't argue at all with the setlist. The band had a lot of energy and the audience responded likewise. I still think that they are a relevant band, which is remarkable considering they have been together over 30 years and still have all the original members. How many bands can say that? They are still making good music, I loved NLOTH and most of their other albums,as well. I hope to get another chance to see them in the not too distant future and to hear more great new music next year. Keep rocking U2!

  5. No No No!!!!!!
We dont need to lose anymore NLOTH songs,i dont miss the Pop songs one bit(and i like the Popmart era) and whoever it was that said this opinion means we're stuck in the 80's is talking crap.I'd rather they played more atomic bomb songs and bring back more NLOTH like Breathe and UC.
Brilliant news that Magnificent is back, still think The Fly will be in those last few shows though and rightly so.
Its been a great tour,i don't think you can slate the setlists, look at ZooTv that was pretty much the same show every night but nobody complains about that, that was of course another amazing tour.
Can't wait for whats next after 360,gonna enjoy watching all the bootleg dvds of it while they are away working on the next stuff though
  6. I don't consider "Lemon" to be a Pop-era song.

The main reason I think they should have dropped "Crazy" is simply because they gave up on good NLOTH songs like "Breathe" and the title track. I didn't mind it back in 2009 when they were promoting the album but it lost a certain something when it was apparent they were no longer promoting their latest album.

Thye certainly are not stuck in the 1980's. At the T.O. show, they played NINE songs from the 1990's. eight songs from the 2000's, and "just" seven songs from the 1980's. A very well-rounded mix, if you ask me.

Rummy,i wasnt having a go at you mate,it was another poster who stated people who dont want any pop songs are stuck in the 80's which i think is way off target.
I absolutely agree that the tour did lose something when the No Line songs started disappearing,i wouldnt be against Lemon returning but rather at the expense of something older like Scarlet or Pride.

No worries, my friend. That's the beauty of this site. We have these friendly debates and no one gets "hurt" - at least they shouldn't be.

I agree with the 1980's rotation (for future tours - I'm not bitching about this tour). Rotating IWF and OOC was a great idea. They should consistently do the same with NYD/SBS, Pride/Bad, WOWY/ISHFWILF, Desire/AoH, etc. etc etc. to keep things "fresh" from night to night. I've probably listened to too many Radiohead or Pearl Jam concerts where they switch up their older material from show to show. I think in a more intimate setting (smaller arenas) and a stripped down stage performance, U2 will be able to accomplish this. The 360 Tour was more than a rock concert - it was (is) a major stage production as well so I "get it" when the setlist is somewhat stagnant from night to night.

True.Thats the problem with a "stadium only" tour,as PoP.They were/are limited for nightly changes. The entire crew has to be aware of any slight set change. The PoP set really didnt change at all. This set, in the main set, did change.

One of the many reasons, I really liked the Vertigo tour, (ARENAS) was the fact the band had 3 different opening songs (LAP,Vertigo,COBL).And that was for one year (2005),not 2 or 3 yrs.The encore changed each night.WOWY was NOT played each night.

This tour, the band did pull out some really rare songs.I never thought they would play songs like Your Blue Room,Scarlet,Zooropa,Ultra Violet,OOC or bring The Fly back into the fold.

Stadium tours,IMO, are more of an event.I have been lucky.I have had very good seats, for my gigs.I feel for the fans who are 3 miles away (Montreal).

This Philly show was a really really good gig.Im glad they broght back Magnificent,it works well live.

I,like most, feel Crazy Remix, should have been replaced ,as far back as 2010.If they wanted a "dance" tune in that spot, why not use Discotheque or Lemon instead ??

I want the band to get back, into the studio.Put out a cd similar to ATYCLB.Thats THEIR SOUND.12 MILLION cds sold.It must be good, right ? They dont need to prove anything. No other band, has stayed intact, and remained relevant for this long.Iam grateful, the band are still around, and putting on a solid show.
  10. Great to see the return of Magnificent! Come on guys now lets hear Breathe one last time!
Yeah why not Lemon/Disco for the remix part?
I think Crazy Tonight in its original form is way better,i do like how Larry comes down on the ramps with the bongo drum though.
  11. Is ANYBODY going to post the Philly show for audio download? I've been waiting for days, alot of U2startees in attendance but WHERE IS THE SHOW??? Hundreds of shows on this site and the one show I want nobody has?? Somebody help me.........
