  7. Today I was at my friends' son's 8th birthday party and I was wearing one of the new U2 shirts from Toronto and when he saw it he said "That's U2!" So I got to thinking I would make him a mix CD of U2 songs (hook him while he's young haha). Since he is only 8 I figure I would go with the more poppy, melodic songs. Here are a few I came up with so far:

    Elevation
    Vertigo
    Beautiful Day
    Crazy Tonight (Remix)
    Desire
    I Will Follow (?)
    Sunday Bloody Sunday (maybe with Jay-Z cause his Dad really likes Jay)
    Sweetest Thing (?)
    Mysterious Ways
    Get On Your Boots

    What else? Any other ideas?

  8. I Will Follow really doesn't fit with the overall mood, but apart from that the compilation is pretty good, including Sweetest and SBS w/Jay. Maybe you could throw in One, my little brother loves it since he was 6 y-old or so. If you want to fill up the CD with other poppy but less-known songs, Wild Honey, Angel of Harlem, Always and Window In The Skies are good options

    I am just trying to think of "cool" songs that an 8 year old would like you know?

    I am also considering Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me because I loved that song when I was 8 (Batman Forever was out then).

    I was also thinking maybe Pride and Streets? Just cause they're good.

    Some good choices there and even though it's a cool kick ass song I don't think I'd use Mofo. I don't want to be the one responsible for him asking what it means! haha
