Whats with the lack of live material on this release ? And whats with all the remix cd's ?.I never listen to all those ridiculous ultra remix versions.Thats not U2.I want the BANDS versions, or outtacks, rare live versions OF THE BAND.Not a Howie B or Flood ultra dub club hub night vision version remix. But,hey, thats just me.

Im not complaining,(well, maybe I'am)but, the Sydney DVD is included ? Really ? Like most,I already BOUGHT that, when it was FINALLY released on DVD, a few years back.Imagine, if the band included Rattle and Hum, with the JT deluxe set, instead of the Live in Paris gig.

The Live In Sydney CD (fanclub release) would have been nice treat.I already have it,but I know many, who were not in the fan club back then.U2 ,as we all know,do not like to release live cd's.

I will ,of course, buy some version. But this,at first glance, seems to be a bit of a disappointment.A missed opportunity.I would have,no question, put up big $$$ if a live DVD (not Sydney),or a live cd from that period was included.Oh well.Cant say Im shocked, just disappointed.

Pretty much agree with you on all of your points.

Remember for those who plan to download the AB remaster, McGuiness has his new crack down on illegal downloaders!

Um...download =/= illegally download. These will be available as iTunes downloads as well as physical editions. Which I'm sure you know, but just a reminder that not every talking about downloading the release is talking about not paying for it.

Didn't really think of that...next year maybe they will do a 20th anniversary of Zootv!!
I'm hoping fanclub this year will be something good from
Ababy era. Our luck they will put out 360 tour show that was a live stream.
  4. Well, this looks pretty good, I have to say - even though we don't get an unreleased show which is disappointing, but definitely the most comprehensive rerelease to date. (and luckily I still haven't got the Live from Sydney show)

I think I might get the Super Deluxe - the only difference between it and the Uber are the vinyls, the badges, glasses, oversized booklet and Propaganda mag? If so it's not worth the extra 300 bucks (which is a good thing for those of us who don't have cash to burn). Do we know how many Uber Deluxe copies will be made?

The Super Deluxe looks like great value though - especially when it eventually comes down to like $50 on Amazon like my JT and TUF super deluxe editions - 6 CDs and 4 DVDs is pretty damn good for that price.

The demo/early version 'Baby' CD of the album sounds interesting - let's just hope they are more of alternate/early mixes rather than unfinished, unpolished demos.

One thing I can't see in any of the details recently released is any mention of the remastering. I assume they are remastering everything and not just rereleasing it again? .

Another concern is that the inclusion of Zooropa means we won't get a rerelease of that next year and there don't seem to be any Zooropa session rarities or outtakes on the AB rerelease.

And do we know the titles of any of the reworked songs? (ie in the vein of Disappearing Act, Wave of Sorrow rather than just unreleased stuff)

Yeah, that's a good point actually.

  6. wow - whoever authored that site doesn't have a very firm grasp of english do they.... very unprofessional..

i wonder if the fly glasses that come with the uber set are the same as the ones that were available through propaganda magazine or an improved version? haven't seen a big enough photo of them

  7. I'm really looking forward to listening to The Fly remastered. Of course I'm excited to listen to the whole album remastered, but The Fly especially.

Are we sure that it's remastered? it doesn't say so on the site I believe.

  9. A few months back, someone put on the 'Latest News / Sightings' thread that a person was outside where AB was being remastered and said it was sounding 'great'.

It should be remastered if they are re-releasing it anyway. All of the U2 re-issues have been remastered so AB should definitely be.
  10. I think U2 and Paul exagerate about the price especialy when we see beneficts of last tour 736 millions $ because I wanted to buy Uber edition but on FNAC web site the price is 338 € it's too much
Comparate super deluxe edition of TUF cost 45 € and super deluxe edition of JT cost 50 €

  11. Wow, I just listened to this album on vinyl for the first time, simply stunning, incredible
