1. If someone put a gun to my head and forced me to hand over one of my many U2 CD's/bootlegs/whatever, I would more than happily hand over Pop

I'm a fan since 1983, have bought every vinyl in the 80's, then every cd, then every remaster in a deluxe edition, etc. And although I like a few songs on Pop (Please and Mofo), I've disliked the album as a whole ever since it came out.

My favourites remain JT - AB - UF, with NLOTH very close to that.

The Butcher is one long drumbeat.I actually loved These Are My Twisted Words.I love that song.Guitars all over the place !!! That tune could go on for 20 min...

My question to Radiohead ,WTF ?? and where are the guitars ??...Is Ed Obrien still in the band ???

I'll move this over to the Radiohead discussion topic.

Thanks Rummy. I think this is the first time anyone told me on a U2 forum that I know my stuff. I don't post that much, but when I do, I think I am blasted for my opinions a bit much! You are right, Leeds and Santiago are great shows. I'd love to have perfect soundboard recordings of them, but will have to settle for what is out there.

I agree.I think most of the older fans, like us,didn't like Pop because it continued in the "we need to experiment" path,Again.Getting back to original topic,I would only buy a reissue or remaster if they have songs I don't have,or a live release that I don't have. The live release,I doubt will happen. The sound is actually pretty good with Pop.AB could have used a cleanup, sound is a bit low IMO.
  5. I am two-thirds of the way to completing my alternate-version mix of Pop.

I have: the three new mixes (Discotheque, Staring at the Sun, and Gone) from the Best of 1990-2000; Three single mixes/edit for Last Night on Earth, Please, and IGWSHA; Mofo 2000 Mix, and the Jools Holland Mix of IYWTVD. Just got to find alternate version of Do You Feel Love, Miami (there must be somthing out there for this one), and Wake Up Dead Man.

No, I haven't forgotten about The Playboy Mansion.
  6. I have two mixes of Do You Feel Loved:

Do You Feel Loved (in Da Gay Bar Mix) -- I know, the title isn't very encouraging... and the mix itself isn't brilliant either. It features only random original vocals, don't expect the full vocal take by Bono.
Do You Feel Loved (Alien Groove Sensation Mix) -- pretty much the same, just a techno beat featuring DYFL's main riff, bass riff and other elements, without the original lyrics.

I also have the WinGroove Mix of Wake Up Dead Man, which basically consists of a WUDM ringtone, in typical midi-ringtone style. It has some lullaby feeling to it, though, it's very relaxing.

  7. You are sooo Wrong... i saw that Concert and Mexico fans are more enthusiatic than the brazil One.. and foro sol looked Majestic that day Morumbi Stadium just looked like another date on the popmart tour.. the Top Popmart Dates are Mexico and Sarajevo.. no more.

Well, I try to keep an open-mind to things.

Any "Miami" remixes out there? It seems to be a song that has such a groove/beat that DJ's would be all over it.

A lot on this site think the best DVD of any tour is the one with the best fans. I could care less if they played in front of 100,000 rabid fans, or an empty rehearsal hall. I love the Mexico City show, but thought the ones from the leg I chose were just a little better. Atlanta was also a great show, and even though that was the one I went to, I still felt Sao Paulo was a little better. The only shows I went to that I thought would've been a great DVD was Raleigh 2009 or Nashville 2011.

I like the Sao Paulo performance the best. Santiago and Buenos Aires were also great. I do think U2 has a bad habit of just picking one show to film, and worry too much about avoiding a still camera with Cornish Hamilton's crazy zooming all over the place. They also worry about how it looks, when the music should be the focus.
