It's not 10, 20 or 25. It's just 7.

Actually, 10, 20, and 25 are arguably just as arbitrary as 7 is.

We (most likely) have a base-10 numerical system because human beings have 10 fingers & 10 toes, thanks to God or natural selection (or possibly thanks to God by way of natural selection?).
Since all of us on this forum have used base-10 for our entire lives, we not only feel incredibly comfortable using it, but we can't possibly imagine using another system.
Base-16 (aka "hexadecimal") or base-4 or base-8 might actually make more practical sense given the importance of doubling & exponential growth in measuring natural phenomena.
However, attempting to switch to another numerical system would be so ridiculously difficult as to not even be worth the trouble. Try some basic math problems in base-16 (Google it) and you'll see what I mean. Learning 10 languages is easy compared to being "fluent" in 2 different numerical bases that use some of the same numeric symbols.
Sorry for that ridiculous tangential & nerdy rant, but it's food for thought.![]()
So all this is my winded argument for celebrating the 7th shamelessly.
And if you don't agree then, hey, at least we recently celebrated the 15-year anniversary of Zoo Dublin and will soon celebrate the 15th of Sydney!!
