1. Wauw, how Edge sings Love Is Blindness is just stunning! Loved the film!
  2. On the Bono talking issue:

Bono is the frontman of U2.

  3. thank you so much! finally someone who listens and cares!

  4. Fair point but that's no excuse for the shit he talks at times. He just tries to make every simple sentence sound so spiritual and hazy and fluffy. He's a hard man to like. I would have loved a lot more of Achtung Bono in the film. He was cool.
  5. That was really good. Just great watching a documentary about your favourite album.

I would pay an unbelievable amount for all the demo tapes that were recorded during the sessions, it would be sublime to listen to all the rejects, all the crap; everything.

But, there is something else I would love to have seen included on the documentary; and that is the whole Lady With the Spinning Head thing and how it turned into 3 different songs.

  6. I see 59 seeders.

    Oh yes, definitely!
It was great to hear snippets of some early, early versions of songs and how the guys really "work" the songs. They really see it as a sacrament, I love this.
That looooong early version of Mysterious Ways would be very interesting to listen to in its entirety. When I heard in the documentary I looked up the track length of the "Beibi"-version but sadly it's just a bit more than 4 minutes, so I doubt it will be the version we heard in the documentary.

Guggenheim really captured the long way from Rattle and Hum to Achtung Baby. At times I was really a bit shocked that it was really THAT bad and hard for the band to "carry on", even during the Joshua Tree tour already.
The only criticism is that there was way too much Bono talking bits, I would have loved to hear more from Adam and Larry.

as always you took the words out of my mouth and couldn't have said it better myself.. he is a true fingernails down the blackboard character a lot of the time and seems like a completely different person to who he was even 10 years ago.. would've loved to have heard more from adam and especially larry.

but on the whole i really enjoyed the documentary but it did bring to the surface a couple of frustrations! for example that version of love is blindness was one of the most beautiful, haunting things i've heard them do and so cruel has always been one of the most overlooked gems in their entire catalogue in my opinion so why did they keep them to themselves and not play them on the last leg of 360?! and also seeing the glimpses of the vast amount of pro-shot footage they obviously have in their vaults causes me to re-ask the old question of WHY are they re-releasing sydney with the box sets?!?
  9. i havent posted much and hope this is ok to post i found from the sky down on this torrent site
