I noticed it sounded better too, I thought it was a new mix and was hoping it would show on a bonus cd
  2. That is just amazing.

About the song going faster, I noticed too, and it concerned almost all of the songs. It's kind of fresh and I liked it, even if it's just an edit for the movie I guess.

  3. Am I correct that that was the first public hearing of the studio sessions where they traced the development of "One" from the beginning?

I have the Achtung "Outtakes"/Studio Sessions but there was nothing like that on it. I suspect those studio bootlegs from Hansa were from much earlier in the Achtung sessions.
  4. Downloading now... patiently waiting... :S
  5. Might I ask where you are downloading it from? PB not working - no seeders!

  6. "Was that played to humans, gathered together, for the purpose of music?"

That scene was awesome. It was definitely how I pictured the band coming together for rehearsal. Bono being over the top, Edge taking sexual pleasure in the gathering of data, Adam being Adam, and Larry keeping his stone-wall expression.

But to clarify and hopefully appease people's displeasure at the fact that they did not go through every song, the documentary was not exclusively about the creation of Achtung Baby. It was about the development of the band's relationship and dynamic between R&H and AB. The documentary did a very good job of showing the clear evolution of the band. I really liked how Bono mentioned that you have to destroy one expression to reach the next expression and in between, you have nothing. I felt that the documentary took us through that specific journey. We saw their Joshua Tree/ R&H expression. We saw them tear it down and flounder through the darkness. Finally, we saw their new expression emerge and watched the beginnings of Achtung Baby take root. In my opinion, the defining moment was when they discovered the first chords of One. Although they mention Mysterious Ways first, I really think One was the true moment of definition for them.

  7. From the box? That link that someone posted a few pages back. You have to register/sign up to do it but I have it. Another 20 mins or so...

    Agreed, with everything you said.

I just finished watching it again, and the only thing that makes me upset is that they didn't show more of ZooTV. I know (as you said) it was meant to show the beginning of how they ended up where they are today, but I think the projection of who they became and how much more playful and colourful they became could have been expressed better through more commentary about ZooTV. For example, the part where Bono says "boom, different versions of ourselves" - I feel like they could've expanded on that a bit more, maybe shown some more Fly footage of him saying and doing funny and crazy things, maybe just a quick run-through of the miirorball man and macphisto, etc. Also, maybe the invention of the b-stage and all that. I'm not asking for a full-blown ZooTV documentary, but the movie was an hour and twenty minutes long, and I would've loved for them to make it an hour and forty by adding twenty more minutes of ZooTV stuff. If not for my sake, than for other viewers who won't know much about it when watching this movie. It's almost like they could make a sequel that features the next part, which is the ZooTV craziness, the Zooropa madness, etc. (I'm not saying they will, I just mean they COULD with everything left unsaid)
  9. So 'Until The End Of The World' isn't mentioned or played in the movie at all?
  10. BTW,

you can hide the subtitles with the KMPlayer - Alt + X!

  11. I am boycotting this topic. I am not reading anything of what you guys are telling. I will wait until the Süper Düper Delüxe ruin-of-my-bank-account box will be released. I am not here, actually. And I am not writing this. Especially not since my eyes are shut firmly as I won't be spoiled in any way.

  12. Yeah great doc,i enjoyed the 80's part and felt it was necessary to show that when explaining the transition of the new direction.
So can any of you guys confirm it WAS The Point gig when it showed Larry playing "40" and throwing his sticks into the crowd?
Now i want a doc for every era of U2! Bring on the Popmart doc in 6 years time!
