  4. I think it's a good idea to have a seperate thread. I also want a copy and I can't wait to hear The Killers cover.
  5. I think the Love Is Blindness cover was better than the One cover. One was interesting but a bit dragged out I thought. (Could have been shorter than 5+ mins if Rice actually sang at a normal speed haha). I didn't mind the fact that One was slower, as I enjoy Johnny Cash's cover but this one was just way too slow.

    Jack White's cover felt more different, felt it had a certain 60/70s psychedelia vibe, almost as if Hendrix has covered it? Can't say it's my favourite cover ever, but liked it. The Damien Rice cover was fine, but a bit bland really. Didn't like the lyric change from 'you' to 'I', either, felt it took some impetus out of the performance. And bearing in mind how slow it already was lol...still most looking forward to The Killers' take on UV, however that shapes up. Them playing U2 is always a notion that intrigues me, when you think how much they've been influenced..did Keuning look to replicate Edge? Is it going to be similar at all or vastly transformed? I mean, to be fair, I'm just looking forward to hearing all the versions lol, but that's the one that stands out for me. Who's covering WGRYWH? Can't remember...

  9. One by Rice wasn't all that good imo And I LOVE Damien usually... it's too slow and not that many dynamic changes (same pace throughout)
  10. In my opinion, Damien had a bit more of a challenge covering One. Such an iconic song...its a bit more difficult to take it somewhere since the original is so brilliant. Not an excuse for him, I'm just imagining getting the assignment to cover "one" is both blessing and a curse.

    I think he did an admiral job. Nothing groundbreaking, but its a nice listen.

    Actually, just listened to it again and had a thought...this is a song where Damien really could have used Lisa Hannigan. She could have added some variety and emotion to the song.

    I thought I heard her in there, just ever so slightly....maybe I'm hearing things.

    Anyways, I loved the Damien Rice cover. It's so....Damien Rice.

    Can't wait to hear what's next....
