  1. I reckon the fat kid on the right should go there. Put him in central midfield and play route one football, defenders to attackers. That way he doesn't get a touch of the ball.

    PARIS — French online gaming authority (ARJEL) has opened a probe into the 7-1 victory by Lyon in their Champions League game against Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, a spokesman told AFP on Thursday.
    ARJEL is "currently carrying out checks" on the match in Zagreb on Wednesday night which gave the French side a surprise ticket to the last 16 of the competition at the expense of Dutch side Ajax.
    It was a remarkable rescue for Lyon who went into their final Group D game three points behind Ajax and needing to make up a goal difference of seven if they were to reach the knockout rounds.
    French international striker Bafetimbi Gomis was the star of the show, scoring four goals, including the fastest ever Champions League hat-trick as Lyon took second place in the group.

  5. Zagreb sacked manager Krunoslav Jurcic within an hour of the defeat.

    “I have to say with great sadness that this defeat has been very painful for us. It’s the worst defeat in Dinamo’s (European competition) history,” Zdravko Mamic, the club president, said.

    “The board met immediately after the match and we decided to split with manager Krunoslav Jurcic. It was an unanimous decision."

  6. Well its clear Zagreb wanted to loose, I dont know why but I think it wont matter anymore for Ajax. Only Zagreb could get a financial penalty or something but it wont have any influence on Lyon or Ajax. Or there should be prove that Lyon payed money to Zagreb for letting them score so much.

    It is just the season Ajax is in I guess, playing bad and having bad luck in the competition, a lot of fights in the border, the half of the squad is out with injury's and now this.

    Match fixing is match fixing, look what happened to Juventus and co in Serie A a few years ago. If Zagreb threw the game to Lyon on purpose then I don't see no reason why Uefa can't call it a forfeit and award Lyon a 3-0 victory, effectively eliminating them. If they did a dodgy deal behind the scenes then I'd expect both teams to be fined and potentially prevented from entering the competition next year.

    It may well be though that it was a completely legitimate, unlikely, incredible comeback...

    What to say about the UEFA?? I now just hope Lyon will play against Barcelona and will get killed with 43-0. Or maybe they can offer Barcelona some money too...........

    43-0 would be a great game. A least the French gambling authority are investigating, which says something about the game when they're investigating a French team. Platini is too much of a tit to launch something against his home nation. If ARJEL do find some evidence then it's going to cause a real storm.
