1. I bet Coldplay will see a rise in singles sales though. U2 probably wouldn't have because they're just no longer considered 'cool' in the UK. Maybe they'd have been invited if X-Factor was massive between 2000-2004.

Whilst I still don't think Coldplay were great, Coldplay fans are hardly going to stop following the band and the critics are likely to applaud the perfromance stating that they showed the finalists how it should be done etc.
  2. that performance - as much as i loathe the fact it occurred - looked immense. chris needs to rest his voice though, he sounded like a pubescent 13 year old on karaoke there.
  3. His voice and throat just can't handle all his dances and spasmodic moves. He can't sustain the notes (specially -but not only- the high ones) anymore.

I don't know, really. He used to have an amazing falsetto&full voice back in the day, but his voice started to fall back in 2009 I think. Too many concerts + pressure + aging (?) + some other things... Not sure. The only thing I'm sure of is that he now has 1 great concert for each 3 mediocre. He's not bad at all, but mediocre is where he's falling most of the time. Their sound configuration doesn't help either.

Nevertheless, I can assure you that he sounds better live than it comes across in bootlegs and specially videos.
  6. Got my tickets.August 3rd,2012.Izod in NJ.Should be fun.Taking my 2 oldest daughters. This will be my 11 yr olds first concert. My oldest is 18,this will already be her 3rd time seeing Coldplay live. Not bad.
  7. Alot of the hardcore fans are completely embarrassed by The X Factor apperance. When Coldplay was trending on Twitter, at least 3 quarters of the tweets were hate.

Nevertheless, a relatively good performance. Very cool with the wristbands. But Chris Martin's voice needs a good rest - it was absoutely crap during Paradise.

I'm still embarrassed to say I'm a Coldplay fan though, and I still strongly believe that it was 'selling out' - but I've said that too many times already.
  8. Coldplay are a very good band,IMO.They have a knack or a "special skill" for writting very very good pop songs.I enjoy them. Its almost like, when you hear a new Coldplay song, you go,'Havent I heard that song before" ??....Very catchy tunes.

I also thought they were great at Glastonbury.Decembers Q magazine (issue 305) said an "observer" "cruelly" put it to me (Paul Rees, who wrote the article about U2) this way,"Chris Martin just handed Bono his arse on a plate", at Glastonbury.I dont agree with that.I thought U2 were solid. But Coldplay, seemed a bit more at ease, during their Glastonbury performance.

    Viva,IMO, was a really good album.The first 2 releases were great.Mylo is good and I liked X&Y.

I would only be embarressed,to liking Lady Gaga and or Bieber.Gaga does have a good voice though...LOL
