    Awesome , very noise

    Sound 4.5

Excellent , close to be perfect . My version ( i don t remenber where i get it ) don t have local speakers . I have that version too.

    Overall 5

I was there , that amazing night. I'll try to be objective . Bono s voice is not the best , but that wasn t near to ruin the show. The band was motivated because a great crowd ( during some songs -especially Vertigo- the stadium was shaking like an earthquake). I m sure that this show is a top 5 in Vertigo tour shows. The setlist is classic but no the last encore. Mothers of the dissapered was played with a small guitar called charango . Is typicalform South America.
    Lowlights: some songs sounds tired
Bono s voice not the best form
    Classic setlist
    Highlights: Amazing start.
    Vertigo ( reallly amazing !!! )
    The Fly ( reallly amazing !!! )
    Mothers of the dissapered
    Original of the species
All i want is you ( great closing song)

  3. Very positive review Pato. Sorry for putting down that charango, the music accompanying Mothers was not right. Bono solo would've been much more powerful.
  4. It's interesting to see Tim thought MOTD was a lowlight - it was my only highlight of the show!!! So far a vast difference in our opinion's of the performance (1, 3.5 and 5).

I do agree with Tim's review of the encore (apart from MOTD), the band seemed to be lacking drive and allowing the crowd to carry them through. For me, that was what was happenning through the whole show which is why I gave it a 1.

I know what Pato is saying about U2 should never be anything other than a 3 stars, and if I was comparing to other bands, that is what I would have given it. However, I rate performance against other U2 performance's, which is why I rated so low. If we were to rate other bands nobody would get higher than minus 1!!!!!
  5. I also listed MOTD as a highlight Bono + the crowd were awesome, I just couldn't understand the use of the charango.
  6. Hi Guys,

It's my choice this time round. We haven't had an Elevation show yet, and Elevation is my favourite tour. I've found a boot that has an interesting setlist so I thought we'd give it a try. Here it is:

  7. Performance: 4/5
The band sound great, however Bono's voice does not. He just sounds tired throughout the show. It's not from a lack of effort though. I thought all four gave everything they had that night.

    Audience: 5/5
It's my belief that South American U2 audiences are the best, and they don't disappoint here.

    Sound: 4.5/5
During the actual songs, the sound is excellent. However, in between songs, you can tell there were some edits, and the announcer who discusses every single song as it begins gets on my nerves quickly. Sometimes he even talks over Bono. If you can get past that, then the actual music sounds great.

    Overall: 4.5/5
While the main set was fairly standard, it still delivered some great moments. I have always loved City of Blinding Lights as an opener. The First Time is a great song in the middle over the main set. And Streets, as usual, gets the crowd going. The first encore was standard as well, and you could tell Bono's voice was getting tired. But there was great energy during The Fly. Lastly, the highlight for me was the second encore. They play a beautiful version of Mothers of the Disappeared. I loved hearing the lightly played Original of the Species. And they end it with an outstanding version of All I Want I You, probably one of my top 5 favorite versions of the song. Great way to end a concert.
    Highlights: COBL, Streets, MOTD, AIWIY
  8. Agree with you lestertriplett87 regarding the closing of the show, excellent. I think more or less we all agree, except for Nick

Thanks for choosing a show Nick, I'll update the first post and send everyone a PM

Great show !! great choice !!
  11. Yeah, I've already have this show, and I'm looking forward to listening again. If I remember correctly, this was a really good show.
  12. PERFORMANCE: 4 out of 5

From the very first second of the show, you know this one's gonna be special. Just the whole show is that - special and something to remember. Blinding Lights kicks off the show and as always, it has a great way of opening - it has that 'join in and we'll kick your ass' vibe to it. It's that good.

Some notes in Vertigo a bit off but on the whole pretty good - just before the 'all of this' part. I came to appreciate Vertigo a lot more for what it is on 360 but even here, it's probably my favourite of the entire tour. See, two out of whatever isn't too bad. Then comes that absolutely dismal, dreary piece of shit called Elevation. I do like it here though - with the extended intro. Get 'em goin' and keep 'em rockin'. Just love this version, the crowd's enthusiasm. Bono's voice clearly hasn't lifted out of the blues though.

Next is Until The End Of The World. I always get this little thing when I hear that guitar intro with the 'soothe my soul, sucka lucka chucka hee hoo' bit from Slane Castle video. You know the bit, or do you? Just love the way Adam seems to be just taking it one at a time in this, look at his swagger. New Year's Day next and the vocals are getting better - for how long though.

I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For: standard speech, standard performance except FOR THE DAMN HANDS IN THE AIR. That's how you go to church, you stick your hands as high as possible, because that's how you go to church, by sticking your hands in the air - god I love Buenos Aires and South America. These guys kick ass. See how enthusiastic and over-the-top this show's made me?

Just like Elevation, another dreary song follows - Beautiful Day - but I love the camera guy's idea here to focus on that certain angle. Don't get close, get in there!!! Really adds to the beauty of this show. Vocals might be off, drums might be out a little, Edge might be a little off and Adam just glows as per usual, but that camera angle makes me go ''You need a medal, man!!!'' I love this town!!! After the breakdown of the little bits and pieces in the song - the guitar squeals. I love little things like that. Beautiful!!!! Beautiful!!!! I'm in a good mood, let me tell you - this show did it. Blame that. I have soul too!!!! Soul!!!!

A pretty version of First Time follows, acoustic. I love TFT - it's only little but it's big here. So big in fact that it's my highlight thus far. Just incredible. That's it, you ask? Yes, because little is big and big enough to make me amazing. Then that leads into the old crowd favourite, and lately one of mine - I must be getting sentimental - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, and Bob's right. Take them off!!! So he does, and leads into what's my favourite version of Sometimes. Ever. Period. See what I did there? No you didn't. Or did you. Amazing. And THAT NOTE. YESSSS!!!!

Here's something that needs played more: a killer version of Love And Peace. Larry comes down for some tom-tom glory and adds some rocker vocals to the song. It just works here, whereas other shows it sounded a little clumsy. Nah this works man. Wah wah wahhhh a-wahh-wahhh; Edge's guitar lift smokes. I love how it just goes near hard rock-style.

Next up is Sunday Bloody Sunday, the old warhorse. No pun intended. Can't say I liked this one much, maybe except for the Casbah snippet. And then Bono works it up hard, and finds a little friend. Let's leave that one behind. Bullet is pretty much the same - except the part I love in this is the slowed-down end with just everything bought down. Sounds absolutely perfect. You can't do better than that.

Miss Sarajevo is now, pretty much Bono's 'solo moment'. It's pretty much a numbers round here, even the operatic part sounds tired. That'd change when they hit Australia. That's that one. Next up Pride - I like Pride and even the weakest performances are always pretty nice, and gets the crowd going as always. And of course, Streets follows - where the crowd really gets going. Like not just really, but really really. Love this so much and if you shout out Argentina:

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

The real highlight of Streets, however, is Bono's microphone 'attempt'. I laughed the first time I saw that, whether genuine frustration or getting into the song. I know I get like that when I hear it. And that's over, we're back to standard with One. Don't like the song, don't like it now, don't ever like it, so I skip it out the way. Agreed with Tim - Edge is a little bit too prominent, and sometimes that's not such a good thing.

Next we have Zoo Station. As we all know, the band must've liked it enough to release it officially. (Did I say that out loud?). The big Z on the screen looks uber-cool, and so it's a good performance. Can't say it's good nor bad, it's half-way there but the whole band - Larry in particular gives it his all. Those drums just kick ass, hard. And Adam, well whatever he's doing is just carrying it along beautifully. The Fly isn't too bad and the guitar sound here, doesn't sound half-bad at all. Did anyone notice a different style or is it just me?

Mysterious Ways - doesn't happen to be too interesting. The crowd apparently likes it. Again, Larry shines on this version. Edge does his best, Adam's totally audible, maybe more so than ever before in this show and that I like. Bass and drums means you've got a great rythym section, and that's just it. With Or Without You, same as every other show, piss poor but I wondered - is there a drum machine or pre-recorded drums there at the beginning? Apart from that, skip. Speak the song, that's how to do it.

Mothers is kinda funky. I like the ukelele but agreed - Bono doing a solo version would have been far more interesting and maybe less is more that way. The crowd likes it, so at least it counts for something. And then - oh I thought it was the end - Original Of The Species. Piano's not bad at all. It's a pity this one never made it to 360 over Walk On or something, because it has a real vibe of power to it. I love the song so it's gonna be powerful and great either way. Bono's getting into it - hell must have frozen over.

''It's a beautiful song''. And he's right. All I Want Is You, one of the greatest songs of all time is last. There's three songs that should be at the end of a U2 show, and this is the second. It's perfect, because all we want is you - Buenos Aires and Argentina, and all they want is U2.

    This I love.
    That they love
    And there is love.
    All I want is you.

A brilliant choice to end the show. Bono's voice might be shot beyond belief and the band are slowing down but I've never heard All I Want Is You so powerful. And neither do they. That note at the end - man this is powerful stuff right here. I'd have loved to have been at this show. That end makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Tear-worthy. Just worthy. Worth the wait.

    AUDIENCE: 5 out of 5
They're loud, they're there and mixed so they don't annoy or irritate.

    SOUND: 4 out of 5
All the instruments and vocals are there - all pretty audible - which means a good sound mix (maybe U2 should hire the mixer for their future albums). It's a shame there's not much bass to speak of but maybe that's a good thing when it's that clear. Sometimes it's too sharp but even those moments are few and far between, so to speak of.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: 4 out of 5
Highlights: Zoo Station, All I Want Is You, City Of Blinding Lights, the sound, the crowd.

Lowlights: With Or Without You, One and Elevation.
