To improve that, you have to get a pair of external mics and a power source for them. Give this a look: http://www.u2start.com/topic/by-post/463208/ (the recorder is a Zoom Q3HD, the little brother of your gizmo).

was that ur setup for AM? very stealth looking hat

  2. No, it wasn't. My setup for the Monkeys was much worse than that, hence the crappier recording... If I had had the chance to use a hat like that one, the recording would have turned much better... but no, I had to mount my mics on my pocket wallet (literally), tape it all with gaffe tape and hold the "package" with my hands. That is, far from ideal. But that setup you see there, with the sports cap, gives very good results and is very very stealthy There are also several ways to mount the mics on the hat, and each one of them gives different sound and convenience results.
  3. I think we'll get one of the new iPads within a week. Great!
  4. First scratches on the iPad screen already. I've been ridiculously carefule with it so I'm more than a bit annoyed. Had already ordered screen protectors. Hopefully the protector will hide the scratch.
  5. You have an iPad Gerard? Great! Don't you have a smart cover to protect it? My experience with plastic screen protectors is that they are very hard to attach on an iPad, the screen too large. Works fine for an iPhone but an iPad is too big to not have 'bubbles' in the protection layer.

I have bought the third generation iPad last Sunday while I was in the US. The screen is absolutely stunning, while it sometimes takes pretty long to render the graphics it is amazingly sharp. I now even more love reading books or browsing the web.
  6. I had a look at the 3 but didn't see a hundred pounds worth the difference so the 2 was a good buy for me. I don't like the way that smart cover flaps around but I guess it's convenient. I'll try a plastic screen protector then maybe get a smart if that is no good.

Anyone here with an opinion on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc? I have an oppurtunity to buy one for a low price.
  8. Can I ask you people what kind of surf plans you have for your smartphones? I'm thinking about if 0,5GB is fine... or if I want 1GB per month? I wouldn't use it for a lot of video or audio... But some normal surfing every once in a while.... To check U2start and such... What do you think?
  9. If you mostly check mobile sites, even 100 MB can sufice you. If you do intensive browsing, including streaming stuff like online radio or Youtube videos, you'll need 300 or 500 MB. But that intensive browsing will kill your battery so it's stupid anyway. And you shall use wifi when at home, so exclude from your surf plan's prevision all the time you spend at home.
  10. I'd use wifi at home... And I'll hopefully be able to access the wifi in school too (I'm able to with my iPod, but some friends have some issues). I'd probably mostly use it on the bus.

The difference in price isn't that big... 499 SEK (56 euro) per year for 0,5GB per month... 699 SEK (78 euro) for 1GB per month.
  11. Go for the 500 MB, but I'd say that you would not use that. If there was a 250 MB option, then that would probably best.

Even then, if it was me, I'd go for the 1GB because I'm a greedy bastard.
  12. I use close to 1GB per month and that's my monthly limit too. Wifi at home and work.
