1. About to do so, this is about racism in Ukraine right?
  2. Sure is, doesn't look at all promising. Can't forget Poland as well though, not just Ukraine.
  3. Well all of that was disgusting.
  4. Horrible idea that such facism still exists.
  5. With just days to go before the kick-off of the Euro 2012 championships, Panorama reveals shocking new evidence of racist violence and anti-Semitism at the heart of Polish and Ukrainian football and asks whether tournament organiser UEFA should have chosen both nations to host the prestigious event.

Reporter Chris Rogers witnesses a group of Asian fans being attacked on the terraces of a Ukrainian premier league match and hears anti-Semitic chanting at games in Poland. And with exclusive access to a far right group in Ukraine which recruits and trains football hooligans to attack foreigners.

Poland and Ukraine can deny that it happens or easure fans that they'll be safe all they want, but the images shown of monkey chants being directed at black players and Asian fans being targeted inside the stadium and beaten until they leave is appalling.
  6. Fascist, extreme right and racist behaviours are becoming more and more prominent in most societies around all Europe, can't see why all the hassle because of the football thing. Hooligans have always suffered of a strong presence of fascists anyway.

agreed that it's increasing in general over Europe -- but still:

that is not a general European / football thing. We don't have that in Germany. Attack a player because he is black or Asian or of whatever other nationality? Agreed, there are a few idiots everywhere, but I don't agree on this thing increasing all over Europe. Therefor, Poland and Ukraine definitely need to act on this. And I still can't see up to this day why they got the EC at all, this was known before the event was given to them. Difficult topic, just my two pennies, no offence to anyone.
  8. Well, there are reports of racist attacks every now and then in Italy, Spain, France, etc and of course the east countries like Poland. At least they are quite common around here (maybe one a month or each 2 months). Sad but unfortunately more usual each day, each decade
  9. Yeah, there are reports in Spain, England etc but they are isolated incidents in football. If you saw the report, the Ukrainians were taking part in organised abuse as a crowd.

I'm very much with Kirsten here.
