1. They didn't update the first three tracks (EBTTRT, AIWIY/LRM, and OTH) did they?
  2. No. I cross checked EBTTRT and it's the same.
  3. I don't know if it's the fact that I haven't been listening to U2 that often, but all of these songs sound so much better to me right now :') so many happy feelings during Ultraviolet <3

*but a few weeks after the whole package arrives, THEN i'll be able to analyze and critique this gift accurately, right now I'm just fangirling LOL
  4. Nothing wrong with fangirling

  5. you know it!

I'm really curious as to how they went and selected the VERSIONS of the songs on this o.O. not that I mind (don't want to open another can of worms) it just seems that I've heard better versions of Elevation and Magnificent. Still good stuff, but the versions selected seem so "random"
  6. They would make us wait for Bad and Zooropa

and god damn these are mixed SO well!

And you know, I'm going to come out and say it. I'm digging the trumpet. The crowd goes nuts for it, you can totally dig the vibe and atmosphere of the performance, and it does add something. The song would just be another performance of Still Havent Found (which would still have been awesome) if it wasn't in there, and this makes it something special. NOT TO OPEN UP THAT ARGUMENT AGAIN

Do you guys think at some point after the cds are issued they'll release all the tracks they remastered? I honestly don't see why they wouldn't, yeah they didn't make it onto the CD that everyone voted for, but they'd still be highly appreciated to have. I hope they do. Would love to have Your Blue Room and Scarlet.
  7. Releasing all the songs that didn't make the cut wold kinda ruin the "competition" feeling to it all, if you know what I mean. What's the sense in voting 22 tracks if you're going to have them all? Don't misunderstand me, I'd prefer to have the 40 tracks, but I can't see it happening, and with a good reason.
  8. Ok so here's my opinion about the 8 tracks released today.

They all sound AMAZING! I do agree that they could have chosen better recordings for Magnificent and especially Elevation. I like this version, but the later gigs have Bono interacting with the crowd much more before the song begins. I hope they choose a later gig for Until The End Of The World. The extra bit towards the end really elevates the song to a transcendent level (ie, Anaheim 2).

Also important to note is that they all seem to sound very similar to the Milan DVD, which makes sense because the 360 Tour was a stadium tour and the Milan DVD was filmed at an outdoor stadium gig. Official recordings at stadium gigs have a totally different feel compared to their arena counterparts in that the band "sounds" like they are further away in the stadium recordings. Even though all the sounds come in clear, there is the feeling that the sound is being projected all around you to fill up the room.

In an arena gig recording (Chicago 2005 is the best example), the band sounds like they are much closer. Again, the sounds all come in clear, but you can "feel" the drum beats to a much greater extent than you could with the stadium gig recordings. The recording may feel like it's a little quieter and you may have to turn up the volume a bit if you aren't using headphones.
  9. Good to hear
Which tracks have been released? Elevation, Magnificent and...?
  10. Good point Sergio, but it just seems like an awful waste to let those songs go unheard

The song list is a few pages back I believe!
  11. ok, I will look into it when I get back home. It's a boring thing to do from the mobile phone

I know it would/will be a big waste, but I just wouldn'n rely on it
  12. To be perfectly honest, when I read the email I thought it said 8 bonus tracks, meaning 8 tracks not featured on U22. I nearly fell out of my chair.

But even if it's 8 we're going to be getting, I consider it a little something to whet the appetite. Then again, releasing 4 more or even 2 more would have been just as effective. The only difference is that now we have a bigger morsel to nosh on.
