  2. Me too. I was referring to most of the WOWY versions that have been played during the last 3 years (Gerry Ryan's funeral and Glastonbury aside). He's been pretty much spot on in many other songs!
  3. I haven't really paid much attention to it during 360 so can't really compare against other performances. I think the Wembley performance does pick up after the first few verses though, possible reason being the fact he's singing it in memory of Eunice Shriver, who passed away three days prior to the gig. After "You give it all, but I want more" is when I think it starts to really get going.

    Oh, and the solo on Unknown Caller...
  4. WOWY sounded like shit when the tour started, especially the first two legs, then it got good but either way, it's a shadow of it's formal glory Glasto, one of the Mexico dates (can't recall), Rome (?), Anaheim 2, Moncton, Wembley, Dublin, and Milan for the win!

    I'm randomly hoping that Unknown Caller ends up on there... <3
  5. I think Bono's been searching for a way to sing WOWY that best accommodates where he's at. WOWY hasn't been the same during the past few tours. But he's come up with a happy medium, it seems.

    I think on elevation it sounded good, but it sounded tired, and on the vertigo tour even moreso. While I'm not super fond of the way he talks through it these days (for the most part) it sounds "different" rather than a worse version of what it used to be. And when he does kick in the melodic side with the "oooooh" part it sounds that much better.

    Yeah I can agree with that. Snippets make all the difference.
  10. or Anaheim 2 when he actually SANG it with feeling, that was shocking. He used a deep voice at times that I didn't know he had. But any performance with the snippet is instantly legendary.
  11. I listened to Anaheim 2 the other night after hearing so many good things about it. To be honest I don't really see what all of the fuss is about. Don't get me wrong it's a great show, but the sound of the boot isn't that great (you barely hear Adam, as with most audience-recorded boots) and to me it's not THAT much better in terms of the standard performances of the songs. I dunno, I might get flamed for this post but that's just me.
  12. yeah the audio isn't that great... but the multicam is excellent and gives you a proper presentation of the show. You can try youtube clips from atu2 etc that aren't in the matrix because i think the matrix sounds kinda bad
