1. If you've paid to see them live, then I think it's totally worth the $50 to have those tracks memorialized.

  2. agreed

Anyhow, I'm not going to spoil it because I think it's much better that people hear it themselves. But it's surprising on multiple levels, including the fact that one wouldn't expect to find something like what they did on an official release of any sort.

    Wow, can't wait!

  4. Can't see the point in that.

I already have perfect quality bootlegs (audio AND video) of the concerts I attended&paid for, and those bootlegs costed me 0 bucks.

I mean, I have already downloaded and listened to U22 (which is absolutely awesome, I won't be the one denying it), and if I could get my hands over a physical copy of the thing it would be great, but it's not like there's a irreplaceable hole in my collection... Nor a 50$ hole in my poor pocket for sure.

Well if you've already downloaded it, you've essentially stolen it...
Now it's just $50 for the physical copy as opposed to $50 for all the material.
  6. Believe me, I am NOT to be taught when it comes to illegal downloads. I have all their physical albums (most of them in various formats), bought throughout the years (most of them in the day/week they were released) with pain and suffering because of a far from buoyant familiar economy.

If U22 had been released in stores, it would be lying on my desk right now, whatever the costs I had been obligued to cut off. But a store release is not the actual scenario, and the album being an online-only gift makes it far more difficult to get for me. Hence my complaint/moaning. Nevertheless, I will get a physical copy sooner or later, from eBay or wherever. In the meanwhile, I entertain myself just with the music - which is in fact what's it all about.
  7. Fact is that 50 dollars is just an insane price for an album (even though it's a double album).

Go to a nice record store and see how much great music you can pick up for 50 bucks.

You aren't paying for a double album. Your album gets you a subscription to U2.com. This is a gift for doing so.
  9. But Stay is still the best thing on it.

  10. And the subscription to U2.com is just the greatest subscription you could have.

  11. I'd agree that it isn't worth the money. How lucky I am that I have a choice as to whether or not to buy it.

  12. Which chance?
