Look at that: An earlier post of yours saved me $$$ with the U2.com/Sydney bundle but this last one of yours will end up COSTING me $$$.

    Go figure.

LOL yeah it's weird to just listen to it I think, seeing them in all their glory is worth the price of admission there are moments in the film where Plant gets SO RILED UP that it's amazing to see, but probably doesn't sound that great on cd. Here's the full version of Black Dog (spoilers) but should let you know what i mean, Plant doesn't sound all that good but LOOKS like he's going for it which makes up for his technical ability IMO

  2. After just listening to Celebration Day again today, I will admit that I was wrong. Even though Plant's vocals aren't as strong as they were in the 1970's (I have recently been listening to a few live shows from that era amidst all the hype of this release which in all likelihood made me make my incorrect initial "pan" of the show), he still sounds decent.

    It's a great concert.
  3. A colleague of mine wanted some Led Zeppelin music (just a top 10 "starter kit") to listen to. I passed along these 10 songs:

    1. Dazed and Confused
    2. Whole Lotta Love
    3. Heartbreaker
    4. Since I've Been Loving You
    5. Black Dog
    6. Rock and Roll
    7. Stairway to Heaven
    8. Misty Mountain Hop
    9. Over the Hills and Far Away
    10. Kashmir

I felt that these were "objectively" their best. What do you think? Did I miss any? If so, which ones would you replace? Like I said, I was trying to be objective here. I love songs like "How Many More Times" and "In My Time of Dying" but I don't know if the're for everyone, especially the new/casual fan.
  4. No Quarter .. Achilles Last Stand ..
    Thank You!!!
  5. Top 10? Starter Kit?

Obviously those are classic Zep tunes but I think they's have to come in the "next ten."

That said, which two of mine would you replace?
  6. maybe these ..
    8. Misty Mountain Hop
    9. Over the Hills and Far Away

hard for the 3rd though ... consider the option of a bonus track hehe
  7. I told him that 10 was going to be very difficult. I obviously when heavy on LZ IV and wanted to include at least one track from their first six albums.
  8. All My Love NOT considered is enough for me hehe
  9. No "All My Love" on any of my mixes. My colleague can find that one on his own time.
  10. Jimmy Page: "Robert Plant too busy for Led Zeppelin reunion"
    nme

Jimmy Page previously revealed that he is working on remastered versions of Led Zeppelin's back catalogue, due for release in 2013.
