  6. Love and Peace or Else about 2/3 way in when it dies down then builds up again. Especially on some of the live performances. Love this.

    That's on my car-mix CD I made (of all U2 songs, of course) So good to listen to with the windows open!

  11. Too many, I'm an Edge-aholic, but my ultimate favourites would have to be (in no particular order):

    * ZooStation, the opening distorted, bassy downward riff. Also that absolutely massive, sustained flanging/phasing two-note lead riff that follows it and during the choruses (emphasised particularly on the Chicago/Vertigo tour).
    * MoFo - that huge whammy-pedal induced "Boeing 747" that kicked off the PopMart tours. And the beautiful tones at the end of the same song where they're all just grooving along (between 2:35 > 2:43 and 4:45+ on the studio/album version).
    * Bad - underlying delayed staccato chords with the ringing upper tones. Love the simplicity.
    * Streets - everything about it, the chords, the delayed guitar, the buildup, absolutely immense.
    * New Year's Day - sorry, although it's piano and not guitar it's iconic!!
    * Discotheque - That wicked, epic, thobbing intro (studio/album version), and also that beautiful gentle rhythmic delayed riff between 2:12 > 2:23 and 3:51 > 4:24 on the same (studio) version.
    * Zooropa - The gated/sequenced-fx guitar part that cuts through 1:46+ (studio/album version) before the drums kick in, and again at 3:45. No doubt Edge is also doing that funky little LFO-type pitch warbling sound too. Love that song!
    * The opening chords to Running to Standstill (Sydney ZooTV). Cuts through metal, straight into your soul.
    * Pride (ITNOL) - Any live version!
    * Until the End of the World - All of it, the thrashing rhythmic chords, the downward solo, and the fantastic epic ending (where Edge and Bono like to have a kinky scrap).
    * The distorted, flanged down/upward sweeping riffs of Numb.
    * Van Dieman's Land. - Reminiscent and familiar of olde Irish/Scottish folk music.
    * WOWY, that hypnotic arpeggio and the pitched e-bow/tremolo-inducing ringing note over the top.
    * Bullet the blue sky - Rattle&Hum video, Edge's solo where Bono's manhandling that huge spotlight between Edge and the crowd while I think Edge controls the wah. Also followed by the slowly pitchbent mournful/melancholic tones.
    * Elevation - that beautiful pedal-wah fuzz at the start.
    * Lemon - gated/tremolo textures. No doubt he possibly also plays the piano thoughout, and the evolving pads from 4:26 > 5:16, absolutely love that bit.
    * UltraViolet - Light my Way! Great feel good factor.
    * An Cat Dubh > Into The Heart - especially the Chicago/Vertigo tour version, although I liked the briefly overlaying of piano at the near end of the Boy studio/album version. A really dark tune.
    * Sunday Bloody Sunday - One of the first riffs I sought to figure out as soon as I got a guitar for the first time at the age of 17.

    But I could go on and on!...

    Agree completely--Discotheque is way underrated for Edge. It's one of his best!
