1. Good pre-season with Ajax that has ended with a 3-0 victory over PSV in the Super Cup. As far as transfers go, I've only signed Niek Loohuis from SC Veendam for £750k. Reason being, I didn't have any other player good enough to fit the role of ball winning midfielder and although Loohuis isn't trained in that role either, he does have good tackling (14), marking (12), work rate (16) and stamina (12) attributes. Considering the price and the stature of the club he came from, I'm very happy with him. The only problem is that he was injured in a friendly and will miss the first couple of league games. There has been some staff changes too, but nothing major.

I'll crack on with the league now and update in either January or at the end of the season

EDIT: Just passed the summer transfer window and received this message in my inbox: PSV the subject of a £30m takeover bid...The Penafiel-based consortium, led by business tycoon Antonia Oliviera, is reported to have stated that it intends to invest upwards of £48.5m in the club.

Typical. Hopefully they spend that money on facilities and not players
  2. Since I'm sick since thursday I played almost the half of season 3, and what a great half its been haha. First in the competition after 17 games, only drawed 1 (At Twente) and scored almost 70 goals already. Also in the CL I went through the first round very easy. In a poule with Anderlecht, Wolfsburg and AC Milan I won the first 4 games, the last 2 games gave me the chance to try some new young players. That didn't worked out very well since I drawed against Wolfsburg and lost at Anderlecht Still I finished first in the poule. Maybe this is the year to win the CL...... EDIT AN HOUR LATER: I drawed City, bye, bye CL
I also denied Arsenal, Leverkussen and even barca.

Tim, are you playing with a update? With the transfers of january? Maybe a tip, after the first season Vladimir Weiss of Pescara is gonna be at the end of his contract, good right wing player for Ajax.
In the youth you have Denswil, Dijks, boccara, Andersen, Fischer, Meleg, Tete and Kishna. They all are great talents (Or at least in my game, maybe it depens on the game) they all deserved a place in my first selection and especially Tete and Kishna are positive suprises

  3. Wow, sounds like a great start to the season, Bart. Certainly makes my start look weak. 70 goals in 17 games is crazy! I'm in March and have only scored 73 in all competitions

I am playing with the update, yes, but Weiss is contracted to the end of 2014. Pescara renewed his contract in July. A shame, he looks a good player. Denswil is currently in my starting eleven because in January, Moisander picked up a nasty injury that has ruled him out for the rest of the season. I've struggled a lot with injuries. I played at home against PSG and in the first half they injured 3 of my players (Schone, Eriksen, and de Jong) which made me angry because they're three top players. We did go out and score 3 goals in 5 minutes but that wasn't enough to cheer me up because I lost Fischer to injury on the hour mark.

Anyway, I'm on March the 8th about to play Groningen, so I'll finish the season then post an update here
  4. Anyone excited for Bioshock Infinite? The series has become one of my favorites of all time, just bought Infinite on Steam and it's pre-loading now! Can't wait.
  5. Never played the second one but the original Bioshock was one of the most immersive games I've ever played. I haven't bought a PS3 game in over a year but with a few days off over Easter I think I might grab Infinite.
  6. I only played the original Bioshock maybe halfway through. i enjoyed it a lot but then got caught up in uni stuff and never finished it.
Did not know about infinite. Sounds interesting, might get my hands on it.
  7. I finished the original Bioshock in a day, it was that good. The second one was a huge step down for me, so I don't think I will be purchasing Infinite.
  8. But its set in the sky!! How can you let that pass?
  9. Tell you what, since I have a bit of free time over the coming weeks, I'll quickly replay the second one to see if I like it then decide if I'm willing to fork out for Infinite. I might just wait until the price drops to a tenner, therefore it's more worth it.
  10. The first game was probably the most immersive (as Gerry said) game ever, and it was also probably the best bit of story-telling I've ever experienced, or at least one of my favourites.

The new one is getting fantastic reviews and the setting and gameplay look awesome!

First season complete. Overall, we achieved some good things but I am slightly disappointed looking back.

    League Table:

I'm disappointed because we could've done much better. Moisander, De Jong, Schone, and Sigthorsson all missed at least six month of football; which meant I rarely could field a full strength side. Throw in your short-term injuries and suspensions and I think we were lucky to get by. Still, it was great for the likes of Denswil, Veltman, Dijks, Meleg, and Hoesen to get first-team football. Even players like de Kamps and Sporkslede were playing games to cover in midfield.

PSV had a shocking season. I was 12 points clear of them after only 6 games. Feyenoord were even worse. AZ had a good season but didn't really offer much of a threat. They went top in December after I lost to Den Haag, but then I went 14 games unbeaten with most of them being wins and that is probably what took us over the line. I was delighted with our progress in the Champions League until we rolled over to Madrid. And I have to admit that we were fortunate to win the Dutch Cup; when Rieks put NEC in front after 89 minutes I thought it was over, but Babel went and scored on 90 minutes and Sulejmani scored after 119 to prevent penalties.

I'm going to sell some players over the summer. Sana is likely to be the first one out and I'll have a good think about Schone and Moisander because long-term injuries have really hurt their abilities. They're both backup at best now and I'd rather have youngsters fighting for the first team than a 26/27 year-old. We'll see, I'll re-evaluate during pre-season.
