And yes, Glastonbury 04 is often cited (even by the band themselves) as their best show but there are far better setlists out there, with excellent recordings too.

They have played Hyper Music quite a bunch of times, mostly between late 2000 and mid 2002. There's a SICK performance of it in the Eurokennes'02 show (which you should get if you don't have it, btw) with Matt screaming at the very top of his lungs, an early instrumental Stockholm Syndrome at the end and stuff. It was of course performed -like the rest of Origin Of Symmetry- at Reading and Leeds 2011 too - probably for the last time ever

Do you think they'll play Absolution in its entirety in 2014?

  2. No, they won't, they made clear that it was a one-off with OOS, which was the album with which things started to take off with the band etc. A shame But I'm sure they'll bring back some Absolution classics this summer and next year (assuming they tour in 2014), Apocalypse Please, The Small Print and Butterflies at least.

PS. It would be 2013 anyway, it was released in Sept 2003

  3. Rookie mistake by me.

How about "Sing for Absolution?" They seemed to drop that one from their setlists in a relative hurry - and I'm still a bit gutted that it (along with "Bliss") was omitted from the HAARP DVD.
  4. Helsinki download complete.

SFA was performed quite a bunch of times in 2007 (something like 15 or so), I never understood why they haven't kept on performing it. Maybe it's Mr. Bellamy's strong disliking for long sung notes, which is the reason they don't perform Cave much anymore, for example.

Tell me what you think of Helsinki when you make your way through it

PS. Forget about the mistake, I have made that very same mistake (assuming Absolution was from 2004) plenty of times - including yesterday when I posted the instrumentals hahaha
  6. Do you guys think there is a 'I Want To Break Free' reference in the Panic Station video (2.45 min)?

    I found this video interesting:

  7. It's nice - very nice!

I'll have to play it in rotation with the Glasto '04 show to see which is better. MB's voice doesn't appear to be as muffled in this Helsinki show.
  8. Yes, the vocals are definitely the stand-out of the bootleg. And the setlist of course

  10. Hmmmmmmm....I'm not too sure about this "Panic Station" song. I try to keep an open mind when bands go in a different direction or try different sounds but there's something about this one that just reeks of a bad 1980's song.

I really like a lot lot of Muse's work but I can't help but wonder if they lost a lot of longtime fans with this most recent album.

    Feel free to enlighten me!
  11. They have.

Panic Station is a mash of Stevie Wonder's Supersition with Queen's Another One Bites The Dust and Michael Jackson's Thriller. Not a bad thing in itself, but the fact is that it's far inferior to all these songs!
